Still it was hella expensive to make... also look at the future moviestars in it. Catherine Z Jones, Daniel Craig. Elizabeth Hurley. And then came the monkeys, swinging on vines and an elderly man doing parkour

The Last Crusade wasn't originally intended to be the last Indiana Jones film. Lucas' original plan was to make 5 movies, but he couldn't come up with a plot for movie 4, and then when he did, Spielberg said no because he didn't want to do another alien movie (he had already done Close Encounters and ET), and then George decided to focus on the Star Wars prequels.

I miss Gore Vebinski to direct something good again, not having these 2 incompetent directors. And why 2? You would think 2 is better than 1 but clearly not! The very obvious Russian spies talking with an obviously fake Russian accent chasing a professor all over the campus while he keeps mentoring students was kind of funny, in a slapstick kind of way. I kept expecting Rocky and Bullwinkle to pop up. Stark contrast with the FBI scene though, because those things actually happened and actually ruined lives.

Yeah, it’s exceedingly painful to see pretty much any scene from this movie. Particularly after the Star Wars Cash Grab Trilogy. It’s all just so embarrassing
@captainchaos36672 жыл бұрын
The aliens/UFO stuff I actually didn't have much of a problem with. It's not crazier than the things that happen in the other movies, with the Ark of the Covenant being real, people pulling hearts from human beings and them not dying, thousand year old Templar knights guarding cups that grant actual immortality, etc. It's everything else I had a problem with.

That introductory line about “Last Crusade” being such a fine close for that character; man, it’s kinda sad. I grew up with those films and, just like Star Wars, it’s unpleasant sometimes to see great storytelling being subverted mostly by greed. I know movie making is often a business primarily but it should exist to help support the telling of stories rather than money demanding a story be crafted “just because”.
