Happy channel anniversary! Your hat jokes always give me a good chuckle. Very big appreciation for your leather care tips. I enjoy nice weathering for my leather too, but dang you gotta get ahead of those nasty crease cracks for sure

Congrats on an amazing year! You are the only reason I keep coming back on KZbin these days. You and your channel got me onto the Akubra bandwagon and I’m now waiting on my third hat! I’ve got two feds and the one on its way now is a campdraft! Love them SO much!! Thanks for the great content! Excited for more!

Congratulations and happy one year anniversary! I wish your channel existed 5 years ago when I knew I wanted a good looking Indy hat but knew nothing about fedoras, I’d have saved so much money 😂 I have a few Advintages now but definitely want to add a Fed Iv to the collection one day. Love the content, love the jokes from the hats too. Here’s to another great year! 🎉

Happy channel anniversary! I have been looking for a channel that deals with hats. I have an Akubra squatter that has been bashed.

I love the hat. I paid the extra to have The Hattery Katoomba style it in a 1930 look.

Kris, first of all happy first year anniversary. I always enjoy and appreciate your videos on all the Indy stuff and yes even your corny Dad hat jokes. I’m guilty of that also 🤣. I’m definitely looking into an Indy style leather jacket. I had a leather bomber jacket for 15+ years and used mink oil on it which really helped but if I knew about Picard I certainly would have used that. Well needless to say my bomber jacket was laid to rest . If my family didn’t pick up on my hint for a new jacket for Christmas, I’ll just have to pull the plug myself. lol keep up the great work and I look forward to your second year 🍻
@HatLifeAdventures10 ай бұрын
Thank you, John! That’s a shame about your bomber jacket. I will say that I love my Wested in goat. Ben Sharples, a fellow Adventurer and Indy Enthusiast says that he prefers the Pecard lotion to the cream for ease of application. I’m going to get some myself, based on his recommendation because he really knows his stuff. When I get it I’ll have to do an episode. Hopefully, your folks will get the hint 🤣
@farside5110 ай бұрын
@@HatLifeAdventures interesting that you mentioned goat leather. Do you prefer that over a softer lamb leather? From what I’ve seen lamb is more expensive than goat. I’m thinking over time goat leather would get softer with care as it ages. I’m not really sure.
@HatLifeAdventures10 ай бұрын
It has definitely become softer in the arms and on the back panel where it encounters the most movement, yet it wasn’t all that stiff to begin with. I went with goat because of its durability. I had heard of guys snagging holes in their lamb jackets and I really wanted to avoid that. Not that lamb is fragile, it’s just that I knew I would be wearing my jacket as often as possible and at work I tend to catch myself on pointy protrusions quite often 🤣 I love the way that lamb drapes. I’m not sure if it’s naturally a thinner skin than goat or if it’s just softer that’s why it’s more ‘flowing’(is that even the right word?) I think I’ll go to my local Tandy leather shop and ask some questions!
@farside5110 ай бұрын
@@HatLifeAdventures I think you nailed on describing the difference. I think if one is going to use the jacket frequently and not baby it, goat or buffalo is the way to go.
@farside5110 ай бұрын
@@HatLifeAdventuresI don’t know if I did it right but I sent you a link on an adventure jacket from US WINGS with some questions you might be able to help me with. If you have any feedback it would be greatly appreciated.

Just curious, my wife got me a great leather jacket for my Indy gear. It’s not from Wested or the usual places; it was from a brand called Absolute Leather. It’s got the right look design wise and even has some great weathering around areas like the pockets. But it does seem a bit lighter in color. Do you think the Eco-Flo dark brown work to help get it closer to the right color?
@HatLifeAdventures10 ай бұрын
Yeah, I believe it would. Try it on the underside of the pocket flap first to see what you think. Great question as a lot of folks have different brands than Wested! Thanks for the question and thanks for watching! Kris

Nice video! Personally, I prefer to use the lotion, over the dressing (I use that for shoes more commonly) since it’s just too much effort using a Vaseline like cream over a more fluid lotion.. the lotion goes on quicker and protects the same..
@HatLifeAdventures10 ай бұрын
Thanks, Ben! I’ll have to try that out, I’ve never used it before. Thanks for sharing and watching!
@benjaminsharples426610 ай бұрын
@@HatLifeAdventures just a touch easier! Keep the dressing for shoes still! It’s great stuff! And always happy to support more Indy stuff online!
