Shane needs to feel some heat as well as everyone else. His play calling was terrible in the first half yesterday. JT was ready to tear that team up and instead its the deep ball over and over again.

Someone needs to evaluate Steichen because he's not giving AR the opportunity to succeed in any fashion. Trying to make him be a pocket only passer is dumb as hell. And telling him to throw the ball when they're pinned inside their ten yard line with less than 30 seconds to go, Steichen is in no way absolved of any issues for the way this offense has been going.

we see what happens when Richardson runs. He taps and gets hurt. There is a reason why he has only played 10 games. This is the NFL the quarterback must play from the pocket effectively to be successful. If Richardson can't play from the pocket then he shouldn't be on the filed its literally a prerequisite of playing quarterback.

Benching and making him a backup are the same but not the same. The guys just not ready. Hes need shane to develop him behind scenes before he thrusts him in spotlight in high stress moments.

@clint7210 the guy couldn't even start full time in college bc he was horrible, tf makes you think a kid that sucked in college would be an nfl all star?

He took a whole year learning and arguably looks worse than he did last year. Almost like what he needs are real life game reps and not watching other QBs. How is watching other QBs going to help him throw on target?
@clint7210
@clint7210 2 ай бұрын
@JStrauD because it's not about him watching, what good does it do for him to watch Flacco. They are 2 different style qbs. Yea, watching him will help a little, but not much. He needs to be doing the reps in practice, that's it. Last year, he missed all practices due to injury. This yr he's missed some to. He needs to be on practice field throwing. Every day, I am working on ball placement. How to complete passes to running recievers short. How to place a ball on covered receivers. How to audible out of bad situations. We know the mam can run. We need him to develop basics before he's on the field. Reps are great, but he has no idea what's going on. Recievers and him are not on the same page. Sundays gane is the prime example of y trying to learn through reps only is not working. We will get nowhere with him as long as we only play the 3 plays he's good at to keep us in games. Subday was hey we are gonna get you doing some stuff you are not used to because you need to learn basics like pocket passing. He's not developing this way, and it's obvious. We can blame oline, we can blame recievers, and everyone else, bottom line the process Steichen has chosen is not working. Again, this has nothing to do with Flacco, everything to do with AR. He's just not ready to start. We gonna get him seriously hurt if he keeps taking sacks like that. Flacco would have threw it away or completed check down passes when the pocket collapsed. AR doesn't know what to do when that happens. Like everyone says, he's raw. Honestly, think about it. What other profession handles newbies thus way he needs some behind the scenes development first, and then when he hits the field, it'll still be a roller coaster, but he will have confidence and work through it, know the plays and know what's going wrong while on the field.

@@clint7210You make great points but if he turns to Flacco it needs to be now and if they don't make the playoffs he is fired but if he develops AR he is probably safe but the real question are the wr frustrated with him if so that's going to be a problem.

The tap out isn't an issue. It's endemic of THE issue. Technical stuff is one thing, accuracy and decision making with the ball, I'm 100% patient with that stuff. The tap out and his reaction to it, raises a huge character issue. Is AR emotionally ready, does he have the requisite maturity?
@RD-BRAUNSIN
@RD-BRAUNSIN 2 ай бұрын
He doesn't have the mindset of a winner. Ignorance is bliss with AR. He plays like shit and isn't smart enough to be a QB, but in his mind, he's the second best QB in the league. He's literally 222 out of 225 QBs since the year 2000. He really honest to God thinks he throws dimes and is a great runner. Comparing himself to Vick and Jackson the other day was comical but shocking to me. Of course he's not gonna put in the effort to learn an offense that a child could run nor does he need to be in shape. He's right on Jackson's heels in his mind. STATS? Who needs em. AR ain't got time for that stuff. He didn't have any fire in him at all about losing the second game against the Texans singlehandedly. It was nothing to him at all. RELAX he's got this handled. He's one of the greatest ever.

Is there any way this crap is on coaching? AR said his super powers are his legs and we all know he’s not a Great passer and these receivers aren’t helping him. After what JT did last year to get paid why aren’t they running him 25-30 times and letting AR run as well? Take the passes when they can but mostly focus on our run game? The O line is decent JT is awesome and AR is big and physical. I’m not getting paid millions but I think it’s clear… don’t bench him let him b him. When they do play to his strength they will be rewarded.

How about your decisions and play calling coach? Go back and check the times he’s played the silly metrics game, gone for it on 4th down instead of kicking a FG, with a result of turning it over on downs, and then losing by 3 points or less. It has happened multiple times. His insistence on playing prevent way too early …. Look at the number of games the Colts have lost when taking a lead into the 4th Qtr. look how often they’re out scored in the 4th Qtr. Lastly, that absolutely asinine play call at the end of the first half yesterday. You have virtually no chance to score with 30 seconds from your own 11 yard line. The play you called was an all receivers 5 yd curl play. Had he threw to any of the receivers you would’ve gained five yards, leaving you 45 yards and 20 seconds to get in range of a 55 yd FG. It wasn’t going to happen, especially when you figure in the abysmal performance of AR yesterday.

Glad I am not the only one who sees this. Shane Steichen does not know how to manage a game based on the flow and the way is going. He needs to quit playing it like it's Madden and be smart. Look at the end of the first half last year against the Browns too. He has just like you said lost at least 3-4 games I can think of. I will NOT pay again to go to a game and waste my time or money. Here is a thought Shane run the ball 35 times a game and only throw in the pocket 10-15 times a game.

Another thing, do u think it’s possible the hit he took b 4 the tap out hurt him and that’s the reason? But he was scared to say that because he thought with his injury history people would call him soft or something? Maybe he thought his explanation would get a laugh? Just didn’t want to say he was hurt or hurting to the public. 🤷🏻
