Professor Gadgil deserves immense credit for his honesty and transparency. It’s clear that corruption and political indifference are at the heart of this crisis. Human lives are being recklessly disregarded. This must be exposed.

The area where landslide occur doesn't have mining sites.. No big buildings.. No deforestation.. No big industries.. No farming using chemical fertilizers.. His reports says the above activities should be prevented..So now he is happy that landslide occur becoz his ego is big that he has to start this blame game and politics when over 400 people has lost their life.. And majority people who give him credit doesn't even read Gadgil report.. And they have never visited Wayanad.. Wayanad is a district relative percentage of Forest is 74 percent and with no big industries

PROFESSOR GADGIL is not afraid of government or richer people of the society. He is a genuine person. Atleast this time we should take advice from him. IMPLEMENTING the GARDGIL report may be the best solution.

Gadgil is an eco terrorist. I agree that there are some points to consider but to implement the Gadgil in its complete sense would be impractical, impossible and unrealistic. The report was opposed by the people because they hurried to implement it without discussions and their intention was to get funds from UN allocated for conservation of forests and ecologically sensitive areas. They want the entire Western ghatts to be forests.. Theses people still use landslides to justify and implement their agenda. If the proposed report implemented, Kerala should go back to stone ages.. You may please realise that bigger landslides and floods affected kerla in the past too.. In 1924 July exactly 100 years ago bigger flood affected kerla, In AD 1341 another great flood destroyed the historical port Musiris.. All these suggests kerla is vulnerable to events like this. It is an unfortunate accident and the present cause is heavy rains induced by global warming and climate change which is the result of fossil fuels like petrol and air conditioned facilities you use not these poor people affected..

Most of us talk of loss of lives of innocent people, but pl note that these innocent people are encroaching land by the side of river and build houses & sheds there. In many cases, they even occupy the space in the river ,thus altering the flow of the river

Madhav Gadgil Sir is an Indian ecologist and the founder of the Centre for Ecological Sciences. He has expert knowledge of the Western Ghats and has made accurate statements about them. Despite this, his views were previously mocked by political parties in Kerala. Sir is genuine and what he said is absolutely right. Salute you, sir

Same may happen to another place named Korom in Thondernadu panchayat...not very far😢 Just take the list of resorts near and this and near by panchayats😢 And the new Tunnel... Then there won't be anything. These areas will never withstand for so many blasts and constructions and what not!! God knows!!

Prof Gadgil is a real genius in his field and his knowledge is a gold mine to everyone esp the younger generation of ecologist who need to learn alot from him on having a one to one personal meeting with him. And for the welfare of humans its mandatory that the government in Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra as well as Goa has to utilize his advise, expertize and recommendations and strictly put it in practise in each State come what may inorder to save humans, animals and property in their individual States so as to avoid such further huge loss and large scale disasters n destruction.

I have read the report 2011) of Madhav Gadgil. Govt has diluted his suggestion. I read a book authored by him " Walking on Hill ' He has mentioned the ill effect of activities which are damaging environment.

I’m from Kerala. I know that none of the ministers have knowledge and they don’t know what to do to prevent the death by disasters. The village named - “Meppadi” which got disaster landslide has 103% more rain 🌧️ than usual. But none of the authorities has sense to think the landslide will happen if bulk rains come to earth. If they know what was mentioned in madav gadgill report, and what was the purpose of that report, they would reaccommodate those people from that village. We can’t solve this issue because there is no option to choose educated and talented persons to become ministers and MLA’s. The disasters will happen again. 2018,2019 floods were examples. 🙏🏻

എന്റെ നാട് തലശ്ശേരി . ഇവിടെ കണ്ണൂർ ഇരിട്ടി കണ്ടത് കല്ലങ്കി എന്ന പറയുന്ന അതി മനോഹരമായ മലകളും മലയോര പ്രദേശവും ഇണ്ട് . കഴിഞ്ഞ വര്ഷം ഫ്രണ്ട്സ് യുമായി അവിടെ പോയപ്പോൾ കണ്ടത് സിനിമ സ്റ്റൈൽ മൂന്നും നാലും ക്വാറികൾ ബോംബ് ഇട്ടു മല യുടെ ഒരു ഭാഗം മുഴുവൻ പൊട്ടിച്ചു കളിക്കുകയാണ് ..കേക്ക് മുറിച്ച പോലെ 20 -30 % ഒരു മലയുടെ ഭാഗവും മുറിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് പോയി ക്വാറികൾ .ഒരു 10 വര്ഷം കഴിഞ്ഞായിരിക്കും അവിടെ പ്രത്യാഗതം ഇണ്ടാവുക !!

the only person who knew the gravity of madhav sir report was p.t thomas ,a true congressmen unlike the pappu gang , who.sadly got isolated in his own party and even rejected seat in his own territory idukki by sudheeran just because the church had turned against him.The church even orchasated his death ceremony while he was alive..Now every thing is paying back but sadly the methrans /priest who had their own shares on quary land will escape and lives happily and as madhav sir said the poor people always suffer

Two years back there was a disaster similarly in Coorg,Madikeri and some interior parts witnessed disaster,human life was lost,it will keep repeating now and then year after year ,unless some one in power takes right decision. Other wise get ready for dooms day.
