There's an American poet, now living in Australia, named Kimberley Williams, who has written a book-length verse cycle about prostitutes in the American 'Wild West'. It's a fabulous collection: very dramatic, richly evocative & hauntingly sympathetic. My grandma (my mum's mother) was a prostitute for most of her working life, so I have conflicted feelings on all this. It really damaged my mum. It's difficult subject matter, isn't it? Very fraught, I guess. This sounds like an interesting historical novel, & I enjoyed your review of it.

Sounds interesting. I love westerns, especially set in Colorado, where I live. Thanks for bringing this book to my attention.👍

Like the pics in the book. Fair review of the good and not as good elements in the story. Glad you found it riveting despite not being a fan of westerns 😊

I'm curious about the "redemption" part...i didn't get the feeling from your review that it was Christian fiction genre, is that right? Sounds interesting and sad at the same time❤

It is not Christian fiction and frankly I think the word redemption is a stretch. It has some sad moments to be sure, but many of the characters thrived in their respective circumstances. Not all, but a lot.
