I watched Tyrone from Nicalis play this on his Twitch the other day, and I thought it looked fantastic! I've been getting more into Metroidvania's lately, and want to check out some new ones. Obviously it's influenced, but it looked clever and neat to me. Awesome series Mark! I think I remember seeing your series on Normal Boots back in the day? Is that true? Either way, I hope you get more exposure! Indies need all the love we can give them :) Keep it up!

This is in my top 3 of most immersive games I've ever played. I had shivers almost half of the time while I was playing.. The creepiness of some parts brought me back to the 6 year-old me going through maze dungeons in Kid Icarus on the NES.

I'm late on the bandwagon, but that's fine. The game feels fantastic, and I love the weapons and abilities I've seen thus far. The bosses are a blast- difficult, but patterns and safe spots show themselves with a little focus. I just started the pathogen segment. Starting up, I went from curious to concerned. But then I died. And now I've gone from concerned to outright scared. I feel like this is a defining moment of the game for me and I freaking love it! DEMON

I really liked this vid. I never knew Mark had his own channel, let alone his own show! I'd definitely love to see more Indie Searchlight here, and I'm definitely going to go and subscribe to your channel, Mark. I love hearing about obscure indie titles, since quite often, they're a ton of fun to play, at a far more reasonable price than most triple-A games released today. Great vid, like I said, would definitely love to see more. Keep up the amazing work, Mr. Edit-Tron-5000. =)

Great video about an amazing game. I actually just finished platinum-ing this game this week, and did a speedrun for fun on my twitch channel yesterday. Beat it in an hour and 18 minutes! (But don't be discouraged, the game took me 20+ hours to complete on hard with 100% completion!)

I'd be happy to see more Indie Games Searchlight if it can be fitted in. Definitely subbing Mark's channel for sure, but more content like that would actually be a breath of fresh air to the channel with the post-Gerg era. Something like that (even if it's not exactly like that since Mark does this on his own channel) could help steer the channel in a very good direction. Least that's how I feel. Hell, as it is I want to get Axiom Verge when it comes out on PC.

No other review of this game I've seen ever mentioned how the creator's personal musings on the nature of reality contributed heavily to the story of this game, so I had no idea that this was even a thing. I never had an issue with a size of a game as long as the environment fascinates me, and Axiom verge is definitely fascinating. I think what can help with these games is some randomized enemy generation and migration, so old areas offer something new. Maybe even environment degradation / growth, so it looks slightly different or reveals optional power ups?
