Finally someone with a larger audience giving these Indie brands their shout out! Another fabulous brand is Adept Cosmetics. Their makeup in general but especially their multi chromes are out of this world! I own everything they come out with, it’s that amazing! Another brand is Cosmic Brushes. They have beautiful eyeshadow palettes

Odens Eye is one of my favorite brands for eyeshadow. Their color stories are fabulous and the formula always blows my mind. Super pigmented but easy to work with.

I am currently wearing Picture Polish's polish called Always Remember. They are an indie maker from Australia. (I live in the states). As for nail polish, there are no longer any rules! Thank goodness. As a self proclaimed nail polish addict, I love trying indie brands and like What's Up Beauty's nail polish and nail stamping polishes. By the way, they started their company as a nail polish company called What's Up Nails. As you probably already know, Holo Taco is hands down my favorite indie polish maker because the quality is unmatched. You've got to know Cristine from Simply Nailogical does things right! I recently saw this hack where if you put vanilla extract by itself or mixed in your moisturiser the mosquitoes won’t even come near you because apparently they don’t like vanilla scent very much.

@Tati you MUST get a shaker of meat tenderizer. Yes, like an "in the cooking and baking section of the grocery store" meat tenderizer. When you get a bite, from any insect, you immediately get it a little wet and smear some meat tenderizer on there and massage it in for like 30 seconds. The venom is actually a protein and meat tenderizer denatures the protein so you don't get as strong (or sometimes not any) reaction to the bites. Be blessed.

I totally agree that some makeup brands seem to over sexualize there product names and marketing. I work in retail (specifically in the cosmetic department) and there have been awkward times when a younger clients and older too that look uncomfortable with these gross names on their products.

Tati, I relate. I can be in a group of people at a campsite and no one in the group of 8 or more people have even seen a mosquito, until I arrive, and they instantly form a cloud around me and attack. I can also be in a populous city when it is not the time of day for mosquitos, where they just shouldn’t be, and I will have 5 bites in less than 5 minutes. I do not know why, but it has always been this way…and I swell a LOT with the bites…they are the bane of my existence!!!😢

I returned a KVD makeup palette bc of product names. The names were weird so I looked them up and they were demons. That’s a big no. Same with sexual themes & evil themes: huge turn off for this Christian woman. I agree words are powerful. And have recently picked up palettes from Unearthly cosmetics and Ensley Rein cosmetics. And just ordered a few goodies from a brand called Milan Rowe. Love trying different brands!

Tati, I can’t help you prevent mosquito bites (I have the same problem!), but I do find that applying hyaluronic acid and squalane to any bites calms the itch and inflammation for me. I use the hyaluronic acid and squalane serums from Timeless Skincare’s Pure line. Hope that helps! ❤️

There’s so many great indie brands! You didn’t even mention some of the best ones! The sugar and spice palette is good and they have another palette that I’m obsessed with too. You should try some other brands too! Not just ones that’s been sent to you! Unearthly cosmetics, Gourmend Girls, Sugar Drizzle are a few right off the top of my head, but there’s so many more out there! Adept is a really good one, their shifty shades haves so much sparkle! They look like glitters but aren’t glitters!
