This song was 9 years old when I was born. I'm now 26 nearly 27. One of my all time favourites. Without fully knowing or understanding the lyrics I remember my dad on his knees playing this on vinyl and singing this as loud as he could to me. It's always stuck with me. At any age. If you're lucky enough to get it, bravo. I can't gawk over this to anyone my own age. But if you know you know. Fucking iconic

The way Perry sings this song, guts me. It's as if he is directly channeling the soul/s of those who endure a specific type forlorn loneliness. I was a little shocked to find out the song was actually recorded in 1988, and for this song, okay, people can say it was before it's time, definitely more of a 90's song, but it being from 88 just proves what I always say, and that's, the 80' was hands down the most diverse decade for music!

Born in ‘77 and loved this song and time. Everything was much simpler and no one judged anyone like they do today.

What a great video. Young Dave and Flea are great to see! I feel sorry for anybody who didn't get to live the music of the late 80s and 90s.

@@foxdavani4091 no need to take it personally mate. I went to lots of live music in the 90s and it was freaking magic. Festivals were amazing. No phones. No selfies. No sniffer dogs. No cops. Just fun. I am really grateful that I got to experience it.
