I'm Filipino living in Indonesia and proud of what Indonesia achieved. While all of ASEAN is applying and interested from BRICS membership to improve their economy, the PHILIPPINES never showed any interest and wants to stick with America. Joining BRICS does not mean leaving "traditional" trading partners like US, Japan, EU. Also, Philippines should take advantage of potential BRICS economic benefits. Filipino Politicians are afraid to join BRICS because America/the West will get angry. I thought America is their "friend". Why need American approval before joining any economic bloc? Better think twice Philippines or you will be left behind in ASEAN.

@arysipayung201 im a filipino and im not like the rest of us like the U.S., Filipino politicians are in payroll of U.S. policy. U heard how our politicians are crying about Chinese CG and asked Asean members to take legal action against china , but in my own opinion how asean members view the philippines is that we are inviting other "western nuclear weapons states" to come and dock within PH territory which will bring more disputes. And i welcome more asean members: vietnam, thailand, malaysia to join brics so that Filipino politicians especially our Pangulo and foreign minister and diplomats will be pressured even more that ASEAN will no longer pay attention of PH grumbling about territorial dispute in SCS instigated by West powers. And Indonesia is now in Brics, i hope indonesia will start to bring pressure on Philippines to stop our grumbling on SCS and take "tougher" measures against philippines if we continue to invite more western armies and equipments to PH.

BRICS invited Indonesia to join in 2023 at the South Africa summit, but Indonesia requested to postpone their invitation because we had a 100% people election, including the presidential. Since 2023, Indonesia's economy is larger than both the U.K. and France. It is currently the 7th largest economy. Previously, the U.K. was No. 7. Western countries are doing terribly in the economy. In the U.S., Canada, the U.K., New Zealand, Australia, and all of Europe. The cost of living has been extremely high in these countries. Whereas the global southern countries are emerging. I am aware that fifty percent of South Koreans had to get a second job, there's a severe recession in Argentina, and Turkey has high inflation and depreciated currency, but the rest of the world is doing fine. The rest of the world has no effect on the so-called "after Covid effect.".

What's the entry requirements? Or only by invitation regardless if one can meet the group trade standard for consideration. Or even an applicant has a high standard of trade practices can still be rejected just because members state deem it as unfriendly or hostile? What kind of trade alliance is this? The highest ranking on the corruption perception index is South Africa, if by any means of members trade practices. 😅
