They aren't mostly the same, it's just that there are many things that were borrowed from English. Especially, words that didn't exist in taglog, or deep words that for some reason people really stopped using. Also, that's mainly Tagalog. All of the provinces have our own dialects, as well as the main language.

FYI, American-English accent is very hard for Filipinos. Filipino-English accent is strong pronounciation. Remember: F will be P , Z will be S , V will be B . Because F, V, Z is very hard pronounce in start and endings. It will be change to P, B, S that is more comfortable to pronounce than Z,V,F. Are you very Filipino you can relate this. Take out K In endings . A lot of Filipinos can pronounce of K is silent. Example: Blackpink is Blakping(k) instead of Blackpink . I'm Filipino.

@@TheWorldofDave Great job on highlighting Southeast Asia this time, Dave. I feel like SE Asia doesn't get enough love since most people's mind instantly gravitate to the main 3 "East Asia" China, Japan & Korea. Next time itd be great to try some short phrases rather than words since most words in SE Asia are borrowed from English. For sure, Tagalog (Philippines) is. Itd be more fun to hear the native language in sentences. (Tagalog) Our language is mixed between the indigenous language closer to Malay, but mostly Spanish and English words. It's been abused and mixed (under colonization) for so long we've almost lost most of the original words and borrowed a lot. not to mention English is the official second language of ther Philippines. most people in southeast Asia come to study English in the Philippines since we tend to speak it the best with the most clear accent.

Filipinos are actually good in English pronunciation. When it comes to brand, they're pronunciation is similar on how you pronounce the English word. It's up to them if they want to pronounce it perfectly in English. But when it comes to things like Curtain, mirror, chair they have a Filipino word for that, curtain is kurtina, mirror is salamin, chair is upuan. McDonald's is Jollibee

Sawasdee ka from THAILAND. Actually Thai language system doesn't have final sounds. So it always sounds so strong at the end and it's like immediate stop. It makes many Thai do the mistakes or errors or forgetting to pronounce the final sounds like k, s, st, sk, m, n, etc. We just don't get used to it. But many Thai people can pronounce perfectly if they practice enough.

Nơ it's just "bóng đá" Coca-Cola, we usually call "cô ca" rather than "cô-la" Facebook (FB) can be referred as "phây" in daily speaking "first part of FB excluding the ending s" Honestly, it depends on your language fluency and background that shape the way we pronounce things of foreign origin.

I thought it was pronunciation difference. Coffee is pronounced as 'ko-fi' here in the Philippines. "Kape/ka-peh" is its Tagalog/Filipino translation.

As A Fil i really relate to the fellow fil, There do be Fil like that, there's the Fil that's very social and there's the Fil that's shy (but chaotic when u get to know them longer) I'm definitely the latter Note: Computer would be spelled as Kompyuter in fil, but Mcdo is Mcdo
