Indonesian National Anthem, Canadian Violinist Reaction

Since it's National Music Day (March 9th), I check out the Indonesian National Anthem. The composer, Wage Rudolf Supratman, was a violinist too!
Sejak Hari Musik Nasional (9 Maret), saya nonton Lagu Kebangsaan Indonesia. Komposernya, Wage Rudolf Supratman, juga seorang pemain biola!

FYI, Indonesia Raya National Anthem have 3 Stansa based on the history of Wage Rudolph Supratman arrangement. Try to search this history, and also you'll find some musical notes arrangement to play it in any musical instrument. But, if you want to play this National Anthem with your cello/violin, it maybe you are closer to Wage Rudolph Supratman, because he arranged this National Anthem with cello/violin. If i'm not wrong, Wage Rudolph Supratman was a Violinist, the same Violinist like you Mike...

As information you should know, for many years, all Indonesian students of elementary school, of junior high school and of senior high school have been introduced to Jos Cleber's version of "Indonesia Raya", and not the W.R. Soepratman's original version. President Soekarno in 1950s asked Jos Cleber, a Dutch musician, to make music arrangements to "Indonesia Raya" so as to make the national anthem be heard like that which we can hear today. Jozef Cleber has also changed some notes found in "Indonesia Raya" so that we can sing it easier today if compared to the original version of W.R. Soepratman.
