Indoor Tomato Growing - Aerogarden🍅 vs Kratky 🍅

I'm trying another indoor tomato growing comparison using the Kratky method and an Aerogarden system. I've been growing tomatoes indoors for several years using both methods and in this video will be trying to grow some dwarf tomatoes from seed to harvest.

What happened to the Idoo tomatoes 🍅? You mentioned the Aerogarden did better. Did the Idoo fail to produce, plants died? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Hello! I made this short video on the final results of my idoo vs. aerogarden cherry tomatoes. The idoo did not produce much fruit at all and I got lots of cherry tomatoes off of the aerogarden. Not sure if the lights on the Idoo aren;t as strong? I'm tr;ying herbs in the Idoo now to see if it works for leafy greens better. kzbin.infohQLp-Giy8bE

Very cool. I have grown Tiny Tim which you can get a glimpse of it in my home grown salad video under an XS1000 LED along with a fingerling sweet pepper, next to them I grew a variety of parthenocarpic gyennicous cucumbers under the XS2000 (viparspectra). I find Tiny Tims to be a very nice verity as they are decent size, and very sweet but they also don’t have thick skin like a Red Robin dwarf

I will check it out. The fingerling sweet pepper sounds good - I prefer the sweet over hot! I just enjoyed a huge beefsteak from my growtent. Nice change from the cherry size. Thanks for stopping by my channel!

I do like that you are doing a comparison but as you mentioned, it does seem a little unfair to use two different tomato varieties. I've been growing all kinds of veggies in my aerogardens over the winter and it has been really nice to have fresh veg. Salads on demand. Did your cherry tomatoes only put out one crop and give up? Mine must be a different variety, it seems to be pushing out new growth with more flowers, so I'm hoping for more fruit from it.

I think they were a determinate variety of dwarf cherries, so were pretty much done producing cherries. Happy Gardening!
