Your video has given me hope. I had my majestic palm in direct sun because the label said it "loves full sun." Lies, all lies. My poor plant was scorched. Yesterday I moved my plant to an area that gets indirect sun. Repotted and removed all dried leaves. After watching your video I'm confident I did the right thing and my palm will recover.

Hi Stephanie, I'm glad you found my video helpful. I normally don't trust the plant labels specially if you get the plant from big box stores. Palm plants are very enduring and should recover given proper care. Good luck!
@davidlestrange9153 Жыл бұрын
its true that palms like full sun, but there are two factors that might complicate that and make it seem like it would prefer shade. The first is that when a plant not used to high light is placed in direct sunlight(no matter what plant) it will get scorched leaves. It needs to be adjusted to direct sunlight over the span of months by gradually increasing the amount of time it spends in the light. The second factor is that a plant in high light will need ALOT of water. Especially palms.

First time to see this. The time 4pm on Sunday, February 25.My Majestic Palm will be 1year old this summer. I live in Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦. No one told me how to grow it or take care of it. Kept it outside all summer and took it in the house in the fall as soon as temperature was getting too cool. About October I noticed the leaves turning brown so I cut the branches at the trunk and hoped for the best. Now the tips are brown and I see on your video what and how to take care of that. How often should I water the plam in the house until summer? What should be the temperature outside before I can put it out and leave it out? Sorry this is so long, like I mentioned I have no one to help me. Thank you in advance for your time and great video. 👍

I water my palm once every two weeks during the fall and winter and then bring it outside when the temperature is at least consistently 65 degrees Fahrenheit. The leaves turns brown due to lack of humidity, so try to place it indoors near a humid area or near other plants.

I just moved to FL and have 2 palms near death, think they're Phoenix: very long, upright fronds. They were planted a yr ago, with fronds about 9 ft tall. I noticed the roots were not covered so I added a sand+soil mix. Removed the dead fronds. Trimmed the ones with a lot of dead leaves. Killed the fire ants living in the soil. Watered but not hard. And Fertilized lightly bc I'm not sure if it's suffering from the unusual cold in Dec, lack of water, lack of fertilizer or all of the above. It's sister is also stressed but maybe half as much. Both are putting out new fronds but the new fronds on the sick one have brown edges, one does look pretty healthy. Wish I could send a pix but still would appreciate any suggestions from here. Love your love of palms and nature. Will look for that Virburnum you mentioned! Tx. From NY to FL, Best thing I could have done.

Wow, this gives me hope for my Majesty Palm, Ive had it 2 years now and only finally repotted it half a year ago but ibto a pot not much bigger. I bought it with 5 fronds/leaves on each of the 4 stocks but one whole stock has died off and now thebremaining 3 stocks are down to 6 with a baby 7th, 3 with 2 unfurled new fronds, and the last stock has 2 with 1 new one coming in. It went from having 24 leaves to only 11 with 4 new ones coming in. The one came in over a year ago but hasnt unfurled yet. Im gonna get a bigger pot tomorrow but its nice to know even as is it looks like your jaggard one did AFTER restoring it so I cant even imagine how crazy good mines gonna do in a new pot. I wint let it get sunburnt this time either, Im getting Miracle grow, and Im collecting rain water to water it with. I want it to get a GIANT palm leaf like my uncle's did.

Try using distilled water. It's only a dollar and most plants can't handle tap water or sadly even the water coming from our skies with all the pollution. I didn't know that and was using tap water/rain water and my plant started dying after only a few weeks of getting. I thought I was under/over watering and did research. Once I made the switch, my little baby is recovering rather quickly. Hope your plant makes a solid comeback♥️

Normally as the majesty palm gets taller the roots will start to show, then it's time to repot when your pot is not deep enough to add more soil to cover the roots.

A have a majestic palm that I inherited. I’m not sure how to take care of it. In fact, all the leaves dried during the winter while in the house but I was praying it would come back to life which amazingly it did. But now I have it outside to get some sunlight but not sure when to bring it back in for the winter. Last night it got down in the 30’s and the same for tonight. Is it time to bring it indoors? My mom would take it out in the spring/summer and bring it indoors during the winter, but I’m not sure at what point. Could you give insite on when to bring it indoors? Thanks

My palm plant loves the morning sun, I kept mine in my patio during spring and summer almost getting direct sun and they did just fine. I just make sure they get watered regularly. Thank you. Soooo, before your video, I cut not only the fronds but the actual plant because they were browning. I now have one full functioning frond and it has one full palm and a stalk growing from it. Is there any chance it could grow more than two palms? How would you care for a palm like this?
@FoodArtTravel3 жыл бұрын
Hello Chaka Khanian! Good news is that happy palms can have new pups or offshoots. So you might get more than two palms, but it'll take patience. The problem is keeping the palm alive and happy. Remember not to overwater (Sign-yellowing of leaves) or underwater (sign-browning of leaves). If the leaves are browning, you might need to water it more often and increase humidity. The pot should have well drainage. Majesty palms like humidity (use humidifier if you have one). Palms like bright indirect light, too. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Can you help me with my palm pls.. it has brown and white spots on the base that goes up..
@FoodArtTravel3 жыл бұрын
Hello, It sounds like the white spots could be a fungus problem. Carefully examine your plant to check if the dirt has fungi growing in it. If so, you might have to remove the affected area by scooping it out then add more dirt. If the fungus is just on the base of the plant, try spraying it with Neem Oil at night ( daytime might be too hot and cause burn on your plant). I never had this issue on my majesty palm before but I remember doing this on my monstera and peace lilies. Hope this help. Good luck!

Hello my palms leaves are Turning yellow. I saw many different videos and they have different instructions. No or yes to straight sunlight? Water ? …. I’m so confused… now my plant is on the balcony and I spray the leaves everyday. Watering is like … every 4-5 days. But the soil is super dry
@FoodArtTravel3 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, now that it's summer, I have my majesty palm in my front porch receiving few hours of direct sunlight (morning) but indirect light during the hot afternoon. Now when it comes to watering, they can tolerate drought and can be watered every two weeks. Just make sure the pot has plenty of holes on the bottom. The roots cannot sit in water or soggy soil(my palm leaves will turn yellow if its overwatered). I would reduce my watering frequency if it's yellowing. I don't spray the leaves of my palm. If its outside on the balcony, there should be enough humidity. Now, during the winter inside the house, I spray my plant every once awhile but I make sure I have a fan circulating or have a humidifier on. Hope this helps. Good luck.

@@FoodArtTravel what if its both brown & yellow
@FoodArtTravel2 жыл бұрын
Overwatering and very low humidity could make the leaves yellow with brown tips. Bugs could also be attacking the plant. I would check the soil and leaves if there's any bugs, if any, might need to spray neem oil. Let the soil dry out and increase humidity to stop the leaves from browning. Good luck!
@quetzali86543 жыл бұрын
My palm leaves are getting weak , is there any way to fix them? Is pruning an option?
@FoodArtTravel3 жыл бұрын
Hi Quetzali, is your palm leaves getting droopy? You might want to check if there are bugs attacking the trunk or could be root rot or fungus. You can spray it with Neem oil if it doesn't look too bad. You might have to repot it if the soil has too much fungus (white moldy looking). If it's yellowing, let the soil dried out before watering again. If the leaves are browning or getting crispy it needs water and more humidity. You can cut the dying leaves, as it won't come back. Make sure it's getting plenty of indirect sunlight and lots of humidity. Let me know if this helps. Good luck.

Majesty palm will have dry tips if it's not getting enough humidity. If it's droopy you might want to check the fronds for bugs and the trunk for bugs and rotting.
