Toro Timecutter Zero Turn Model MX4200 74765 Zero turn was smoking and then started to behave in a different way. It would not run if the choke was taken off. We were thinking it was a blown head gasket or valve issue possible.
We end up showing how to remove the carburetor, clean, rebuild and replace it with a new intake gaskets.
We diagnose and repair this zero turn with full diagnostic and repair procedures.

I’ve researched and compiled a list of over 30 causes for small engine smoking, both two and four cycle. A handful are common to both.

I’ve experimented with different solutions and times in the ultrasonic. Currently using Dawn/water. I’ve done two 30-minute cycles for at least a couple years and never had a failure.

Interesting, never thought about using soap, just something to cut the grease but what works better than Dawn soap? Thanks for sharing!

I just remove the solenoid with two allen head screws in the bottom. 2min and the carb is off. Don't need to remove starter or choke IMO but then again I just work on mine and not professionally. Great video as always

Great info. What color of smoke? Could have just snuck past ring.

It was a white smoke, nice and thick. Seemed like there was a little oil coated all over the carburetor and intake. I wonder if someone sprayed something on it to try and free up the choke because it was stuck when it came in

Martin, you mentioned who built that machine but I couldn’t quite make out what you said. Who was that? I know about MTD, AYP and Husqvarna building for rebranding but not any others yet.

This is an engine made and private labeled for Toro/Exmark by Loncin. A pretty darn good engine so far from what I have seen

My favorite is when they "just need a spark plug". Three flat tires, won't turn over and won't free roll when dropped off was the last one. When I got into it not a drop of oil and they are completely surprised it is junk
