Sir my question is ,how induced electric feild forms due to change in magnetic feild
@minimurali97004 жыл бұрын
Sorry sir but with due respect, I am encountering questions where say for example we have straight rod rushing through a constant magnetic field (in actual question it is rotating with angular acceleration w) but some how we use the motional EMF formula to get to the ans. In the ncert text it says an EMF is produced at the ends in an open circuit also (but current may not flow) ...in the same text motional EMF is calculated on the basis of changing area ...but another not so rigorous approach (on the next page) focussing only on Lorentz force required no consideration of any loop but only the moving straight conductor. Maybe Lorentz force is a more fundamental thing going on and Faraday's law is a special case of it(ie a conductor loop) ...this is what I have come into conclusion but it doesn't seem so obvious or clear on how can we use Blv (in the question which I mentioned ie a rotating rod with angular acceleration w across a uniform mag. Field.) Here my difficulty is to visualise this as a changing flux...the text's method was from relating changing flux to Lorentz force on the moving part alone whereas in here I am convinced about the Lorentz force but not able to relate to a change in flux... This makes me more confusing because there are examples in the text(ncert) where it is shown that the flux is zero when the loop or say a rectangular metal sheet is completely inside a magnetic field and moving with velocity v. By faradays this shouldn't produce any EMF but by Lorentz this should...what am I missing ?
@abhinavbijlani43643 жыл бұрын
In the last example that you took, by Lorentz force also, the NET emf in the rectangular loop is zero, considering the two opposite sides for whom length, field, velocity are mutually perpendicular, we see that their emfs are equal and cancel each other out. Other than that, even I'm kind of confused as to how, as you said, one can visualize changing flux for an open loop's motion

Hi Sir, I am your avid fan. What is the basic fundamental cause of rotor movement in an induction motor? If taken as an explanation of cause and effect, then rotor currents which are generated due to cutting of rotating magnetic flux by rotor bars or rotor conductors are the first effect due the cause of a changing magnetic flux. As per lenz's law or the natural law or this effect it will suppress the cause and hence the rotor current direction will be such that it will oppose the stator flux. Then why an additional event of rotor currents getting affected by stator flux to create an electromagnetic pull on the rotor conductors themselves is considered. It looks like that the cause is one which is the rotating magnetic flux of stator but the effects are two. One effect being the production of of rotor currents and the second being the production of electromagnetic pull on the rotor conductors. Sir, can help me to understand this phenomenon? It would be of great help.

See what happens is that when an electron is orbiting the atom(asper bohr) it should have velocity which would generate magnetic field ( as electric field is changing ) but bohr ignored this because this would cause electron to loose energy and collide in the nucleus and also the centripetal acceleration would produce emw which again would result into change in energy so bohr told as per his postulate the electron must have a specefic energy only(plank's relation) Im not sure about my explaination but please verify

@bulasinha27724 жыл бұрын
Electrodynamic inertia-the only reason for this phenomena You see, the loop we are talking about here, had no current before, right? So it had no magnetic field or current or anything else related to the topic of magnetism Now, we all know about bar magnets, so I will explain how a simple bar magnet can induce current in the conducting loop (i.e. it can carry current through it) A bar magnet has two poles, a South and North pole. The magnetic field lines emerge from the north pole and enter the south pole. Bring the bar magnet close to the loop Now, remember what I wrote in the very beginning? I used the term electrodynamic inertia, and this is where it comes to play This property will cause the loop to try and reduce any change being created by the bar magnet. So, the free electrons of the conducting loop will start moving. A magnetic field is generated. But in which direction will the current move and why? -> the current induced will move in a direction such that the loop's induced field will act opposite to the bar magnet's magnetic field (remember!-> *electrodynamic inertia* ) I hope that you're able to understand

It is the property of a long solenoid...As current flows in circular path in a solenoid, magnetic field lines pass inside it and as magnetic field lines form closed loops, when the lines reach the end of a solenoid (which is very far) , the radii of curvature becomes large enough so that we can assume there is no magnetic field just outside as the field lines are already at a huge distance making their way back to the opposite face of the solenoid to come back in!

The induced electric field exists in the entire region,even in region where magnetic field does not exist. So,the segment of closed loop which had LED connected to it had equal emf induced in it as the circular segment and hence there was no current in it. Its similar to saying that there was one battery and then you connected another battery in parallel to it along with an LED in the loop,obviously you won’t be getting any current!

Firstly you need to understand forces of nature There are a total of 4 forces ElectroMagnetic Gravitational Strong Nuclear Weak Nuclear Lets not take into account Nuclear forces as they happen at microscopic level Now masses like us Humans ... we do not have any charge on us .. so we experience only the force of gravity Now if you consider a test charge ( a charge without a mass ) then it will only experience the electric force Now lets consider a somewhat bigger mass that also has a charge on it which is put close to another big mass that also has a charge ... both of these particles will experience both Electric force ( being repulsive if we consider opposite charges ) and Gravitational force ( being attractive ) ... so both particles are attracting and repelling each other at the same time Now if the Electric Force is greater than Gravitational force then net force will be repulsive and hence particles will move away from each other And if Gravitational force was greater than Electric Force then the net force would be attractive and hence particles would move closer to each other

What you are saying is if one person is pushing me from right side and another person is pushing me from left side then why do I move to left side? Please try to understand this There is not only one force acting in nature You need to make your concepts clear very much ... in which standard are you?

Allow me to answer. While dealing with the motion of point mass it is easy to apply laws and equation of motion but when you deal with collection of particles it becomes very difficult to keep track of every other particle, in the case of collection of particles we think of replacing the collection of particles, with a single particle(or point mass) having same mass as the collection of particles. And if so, then it is evident that if we are applying same force we will have the following condition- F=total force=Σmiai Where mi is ith particle and ai is the acceleration of that particle. Now we assume a particle of same mass as M=Σmi, and we are applying the same force on it, F=MAcm, Where, Acm=acceleration of the single particle Using these, MAcm=Σmiai d2(MXcm)/dt2=d2(Σmixi)/dt2 this implies, Xcm=Σmixi/M And this way we can even point out the position of our assumed particle. Basically, centre of mass concept boils down the dynamics of collection of particles to single particle dynamics.
