Hi Varun, I guess it would complicate the graph, because after the motor goes through zero speed ( as you have explained) and the inducted torque keeps pushing the rotor, it will then stabalize in the negative direction of spped with respect to the direction of the stator rotating magnetic field (syncronuous direction).

Hi Varun, in the breaking mode wouldn't it be more physically accurate to have the induced torque go negative wrt the slowing rotor speed? The result is mathematically the same by making the rotor speed negative but one needs to know physically that what physically happens correct?
