Love Big Paul's tribal style of drumming which is what attracted me to this Great band. Empire Song was the single that really got my attention!

Love the lyric - "Dodge the bullet, or carry the gun!" - The choice was mine, did both, so relatable and takes me back to the 80's when serving. Play this song on constant playback. What a mind fuck!

I recorded this off of the TV when it was broadcast & virtually wore the tape through with repeated viewings! Whatever You Want showed some amazing early 80s performance footage (B.Party, Kennedys, Prunes, Fad, Gun Club), but these Killing Joke songs were by far the greatest... Is "The Pandys Are Coming" on here as well?

Jaz was a classically training choral singer and has since composed orchestral pieces! That actually makes it harder to do this kind of thing as it's hard to unlearn that type of singing. At the time I thought Killing Joke where just another good band, only now I realise how great they were. They were going on about Britpop the other day on tv. Blur were supposedly indie but compare their lame foppish music to the power of a song like this

Killing Joke rock the heaviest riffs EVER. Nobody wants to hear a lad try to play piano on a guitar. Randy Rhodes maybe ... but KJ is the best. And if Jazz wrote G a "pretty" guitar solo G would ace it.... But fluff is not what KJ is about.

The manger was called "Schlacky" and he made a mint when the place "accidently" burnt out. My missus worked behind the bar in 80/81. ..and i am currently at war with the lawyers over a house about 1k down the road. Music was cool tho.
