When Em first came out...he was arrogant, cocky, confident, & full of Anger that fueled it all!!! I think one of the main things was...he was unpredictable! You never knew what he was going to say or do! That kind of combo...anger & being unpredictable....that spells out "Slim Shady"!!! Its what made him scary....shocking....it just...grabbed you & didn't let go!!! lol. I'm probably saying this the wrong way...but hope you know what I mean. lol. In that part that he mentions Carson Daly and Fred Durst, he happens to pass by them gives Carson Daly a pound and leaves Fred Durst hanging who tried to give him a pound while saying little bitch towards him. I think it’s the infliction in his voice and the way he rode beats back in the day. Everything was really smooth and his substance and anger in his music was at its peak. You’re absolutely right about people that really cross Eminem. I’m not talking about like people he made a couple of lines about like people that really went to war with him, Ja Rule, Benzino and Limp Bizkit , here’s the thing that people today might not realize is that there was a time there where Limp Bizkit was almost just as big as Eminem. Like people that you met that were Eminem fans were probably also Limp Bizkit fans. Limp Bizkit‘s first album went double platinum, their next album the second one went eight times platinum. Their third album went six times platinum and then Eminem and Limp Bizkit have a falling out And Eminem put this song out on the first D12 CD and after that I think the next Limp Bizkit album went platinum but barely. When you’re going eight and six times platinum and then your next album just goes platinum. You’re done. Limp Bizkit completely fell apart after that. And as someone that was fans of both and I was like in my mid 20s then me and all my friends after we heard this song, that was it! We were done with Limp Bizkit. That’s that Eminem affect you make your fan base not want to support you anymore.
