Or crossing the floor from through the middle, the middle is mostly used for people doing tricks and the outer edge is for fast skaters. Crossing the floor from the middle messes up the people doing tricks, jam, and fast skaters it pisses me off so much

I love how welcoming Deb is, "we want you to get your photos", "everyone falls", no elitist attitudes here. I feel you, I used to skate when I was like 10/11 but I stopped because i've gained so much weight and my foots grew up and I never found a proper size for me, but now that I lost weight (7 years later), hopefuly i will come back skating, because it was so amazing, it was like someone else possessed me while skating, I felt free and incredible, as if I was the main character, and I'm more than eager to feel that way again, just like music, skating can be an escape valve for me. I soooo love this rink! I used to weigh nearly 400 lbs, and starting at about 250 lbs, I started skating here every Tuesday and Thursday morning. I skated my way down to 140 lbs, and skating helped me to learn how to be aware of my body... I moved away from SoCal in 2005, and I so miss this rink! Awhile back, I got Lyme which stopped me in my tracks. I am just now getting back into skating again. Unfortunately, where I live now (Long Island, NY), there is nothing that even comes close to this rink. Thank you both for sharing your videos! The info you both provide is so inspiring and helpful! Thank you so much for saying advanced skaters respect the struggle of newbies! *cries* I'm always so self conscious that they're laughing at me for being so clumsy and just...bad...that I often won't try to do more than skate forward for fear of ridicule. Kids are mean to other kids, and that kind of constant treatment sticks with you throughout your life, even unconsciously. Even as a full grown adult with easily breakable bones, I can still hear them laughing when I fall. So thank you. Thank you SO much for validating the struggles we beginners have. I just got back into it a couple of days ago after over 10 years of not touching a pair of skates. I have to relearn everything, and all I can do so far is go forward and walk on my toe stops. I am afraid of transitions.

A vivid memory, my first time roller skating. Fernwood Gardens in Peoria, IL, in the 60s, with a youth fellowship group which my mom and dad led. Although I actually did make it around the floor a few times, it was watching mom and dad couples dance skating, after having not skated for over ten years, that was inspiring. What a picture they were. I got better over time, but seeing my parents skate is still a beautiful memory.

Thank you so much to both of you for this video! I've been ice skating for the last month and found it technical and difficult rewarding but not fun. I went to an adult night at a local skate rink and it was AMAZING!!! Best thing I was able to use was to falls small.

I've been skating since i was 2 ( i am 11 as of now) and i always used Quads, (traditionals) and I've summer i was with a friend and she told me, "hey, you know how to ice skate?" I said, "well, ya." She said, "then you know how to rollerblade!!" So I ended up using rollerblades from then on. I've been using rollerblades for about 4 years now. in April, I was skating in my normal rollerblades (i had been using my blades for about 5 years at this point) I got my very first pair of quads !!! I was so excited!!! It has been years since I ever even tried lacing up my new skates. (at the time) my friend Max had a pair of skates called "Code Reds" from a company called VNLA SKATES(vanilla skates). He ended up convincing me to get the same skates he had (the Code Reds) now to current day I still have the same skates. I've learned so much on them if your ever in Bellevue NE. Come down to Skate City. It's an amazing roller rink down in my area, where I grew/growing up. Thank you so much for making skate videos for learner's and beginners. Love, Adrienne❤️🐢

Good advice on the entry point. I always enter at that point during a speed skate. But I don't understand how you guys can skate with those high boots? Do they flex at all? Great stuff and your rink looks awesome.

Love both of these guys as teachers.💙 I went skating for the first time in a long time and fell only twice. I always get so inspired watching them😍 Thank you!!!

I'm 70 years old and I'm getting so comfortable on skates. I'm determined and practice almost every day, inside my kitchen, at the rink, or outside at a hockey rink. So fun Getting better at crossovers Transitions are iffy. I am from HB. I went to FVHS. GREAT teaching and videos. I've skating 8 months. My balance and legs stronger. Thank you

When I was a beginner I was 3 years old!! (Seriously, my dad used to take me all the time) but I was always so horrible, but, now I’m doing kinda good and yeah.. just get lots of practice if you want to do any sport anything any hobby, just practise a lot and it will help, trust me.

ive been skating for style for about 2 months now, I can go backwards but keeping momentum is the most difficult thing for me, I was a speed skater so I'm really used to normal muscle memory crossovers and anything really, but its progress, keep up the work guys!

Very well put together without making us newbies feel like dum dums! I’m also you glad you added etiquette! Because that spawns across the board for beginners and pros alike. Thanks!
