Had a Canadian 67 Rebel that I got from my Grandma. It was of course low miles, but it was a straight 6. Brakes were horrid, Carb needed a ton of work and I did not have the patience for it. Maybe if it had been a V8, I would have put time into it. Seats were perfect, but dry rotted. I sold it on the Web several years ago. Hard to believe people have all of these old cars just sitting in their yards.
@indyme2
@indyme2 3 жыл бұрын
Was it a 2 door Rebel? Most were 6's but a nice 2 door is worth putting some money and work in to. Yep, there are yards full of cars in the Carolina's and Georgia. Hard to get most of the owners to sell anything though. We'll do some more of these kind of videos soon. Thanks for watching. Hope your back is well. My personal position on those cars is why couldn't this be in a dryer state like oklahoma or texas.... cause you will earn them.. he is asking about what a rig like those would be worth from a dryer place as floors are flintstone... that is okay as most that era are but the tops and sides are really hurt bad. Now that glass top mercury... that is cheap at twice the price for the shape it is really in and all the parts available to go with. Was a man to build one of those cars near by there, let him come by and see the progress, he'd most likely save you about half the cost coming up with the unforeseen things that always.. people just froth at the mouth for a dodge or chevy two door anything but if they looked at the roof line, they would find out its the same for the two door and just move the B pillar back the six to eight inches and hang the doors off of a two door on it and use up the back door to make the body lines or panels ... its really a lot easier than one thinks. Guy up in canada... DD Speedshop has a collection of tri five chevys that started life as four doors and are two doors now and it only took him with limited tools an knowledge two days to get it ruffed in on both sides and not hurrying in side of ten days a driver that you would never guess. A real nice kid Dan is and his girlfriend is weird but aren't they all, Dani... they are giving away a 57 chevy that is real sweet. Costs nothing but to subscribe and your in the drawing. Nice kids who keep busy building old rigs. I noticed that its easier to go from ford to chrysler cars than the chevy to chrysler rigs as they had similar build habits. I sure hope that you check him out and tell him I said hi Dan, he does remember me. You called that first car that you come up on a fifty eight ford and its a fifty seven tudor fairlane.... my most favorite car I have ever owned. I would do it again was I half this age (now 73) as its a younger persons game to bring em back. And money of course... all it takes is money and it can be a car again. Cold war motors Channel in canada is another really good channel for the repairing of these rigs. Scott is as real as it gets. Halfass kustom cars is one more up there that (Brent) has more metal than any one person should ever have and he is putting them back. I see a million dollars laying on the ground at the mans yard that you were in.
@indyme2
@indyme2 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Morgan. I watch all the channels you mentioned and am subscribed to all too. Brent is a really talented guy and has some great equipment. Cool dog too, lol. I agree, Ford to Mopar is easier than Chevy to Mopar. 73 is young. Rescue one for your own.
