I love the way my Grenadier looks.........but that's about it! I am so frustrated with all the warnings, all the time. Come to find out, we have to take it to the dealer (200 miles away) to have it annually serviced at a cost of $660 to keep the warranty in effect! We have had it for 8 months, has 2000 miles.....which means we will also need to take it back at 12 months for the regular warranty service. Glad I found your channel, Thank you, this information makes me feel, just a little better, not a lot, about my purchase!

Thanks for commenting. I think some of these issues are a function of a car/vehicle sold in 2024 - required service, required warnings, many sounds. We focus a lot on INEOS, but I have learned that other new cars suffer from some (or all) of these same annoyances. So, in the end we got a great looking vehicle that you don't see driving beside you on the roadway. It's unique and I'll keep reminding myself of that every time the overspeed warning goes off and my grumpy face appears!

also my a/c from under the hood sounds like a damn jet engine turbine when running. Dealer says it is normal but it seems very loud compared to others I have heard. Appreciate the channel and detail, Ty!
@MyAutomobileObsession3 ай бұрын
I'm thinking that is the cooling fan if its under the hood - which can sound like a jet engine and sometimes stays on for a few minutes after you turn the car off. My service manager explained to me that the system is designed to keep the coolant circulating until a certain lower temperature is reached, and that just because you turn the car off the coolant can still be to hot to just stop circulating. Now, if what you're describing really is the A/C that would be a compressor under the hood and I'm not certain that I've heard a distinct sound from that. But thanks for adding this comment - it gives me things to follow up on and check out.

Just map it well as I have already done and that's it 😊
@MyAutomobileObsessionАй бұрын
Thanks for your comment, but left me a little confused about "mapping" it. Are you referring to certain settings?
@leomar935Ай бұрын
No just go and remove disable adas You just need to have a good diagnosis and a good mechanic. 😊 Then it's a question of time and additional control units will arrive to exclude ADAS because it is dangerous as well as annoying.

Thanks for clarifying! Makes perfect sense, but yeah, it requires a little "extra" in order to bypass. Sounds like you did the trick.

Also my auto head lights stay on after going through a tunnel or even when I run it from start up in the light. super annoying.
@MyAutomobileObsession3 ай бұрын
It has a delay of a couple of minutes, I believe, so that they don't repeatedly turn off and on if you're going under bridges and through tunnels, but yes it takes some getting used to! Thanks for your comment.

My grenadier in the uk hasn’t got ADAS. I got it in November 2023
@MyAutomobileObsession3 ай бұрын
Good point! 2023 was the last of the ADAS free Grenadiers. We only got MY 2024 here in the US and ADAS was a "mandatory" option included in the Smooth Pack. I don't really blame INEOS - they are just keeping up with the laws.
@C-Mack19723 ай бұрын
Doesn’t disabling the ADAS speed warning in the menu cause a yellow tell tale warning to be displayed on the smaller screen behind the steering wheel at least until next engine start when it reenables itself again? I find having the tell tale light on when the ISA is disabled another somewhat less annoying issue as well. Please Ineos, just let us select it off completely without annoying lights, clicks or reminders.
@MyAutomobileObsession3 ай бұрын
Yes and yes! Disabling the ADAS systems turns warning lights ON in the telltale display which I find incredibly annoying. It's a lesser of evils choice that you are forced to make in either leaving the systems fully on and hoping they don't bark, or turning them off and see a constant reminder. So, I'm with you in hoping the INEOS will allow us to disable features (if desired) and briefly warn us at start-up, but then let things go off once driving gets underway. Thanks for commenting!

I like the Grenadier a lot, The vehicle has potential, it just came out on the market and it does have flaws that Grenadier needs to address immediately I’m hoping the 2025 models get rid of these issues, those electronic warnings would drive me nuts it’s bad enough that we have to deal with start stop in a lot of new vehicles I hate it, also I feel they need to get the price down they’re too expensive, I could understand being around 70,000 but I’m seeing these at the dealer for over 90 something thousand dollars which is ridiculous, & for people purchasing these for off-road use the vehicle needs more ground clearance I feel it’s too low and for this cost should have a swaybar disconnect, I haven’t driven one yet I sat in a few of them and I really do like them, I know people complain about the steering it’s old-school it’s probably strong steering and works well and I think once you get some saddle time you get used to it but come on Grenadier get the cost down and get rid of the things people are complaining about, you can go out and buy a jeep right now for at least $25,000 less and get a much more capable vehicle. I really hope grenadier listens to people in the United States for what they really want, in regards to the lift height on the vehicle I’m sure they’ll be aftermarket in the future other than getting just springs because you need to center the axles get the proper pinion angle etc. etc. but I do hope grenadier does well here in the states

Indeed! I have a 23 Modell luckily and I am not bothered by that
@MyAutomobileObsession3 ай бұрын
Yes - the MY 23 doesn't even have that front camera as there is a different mount for the rearview mirror. We only started with the MY 24's in the US and the ADAS features were standard equipment that we could not decline. So hang onto your Grenadier because newer ones will be loaded with these safety features. It's not just the Grenadier, it's all newer cars. Thanks for your comment!

I have different menu options for the “warning sounds”. After Acoustic Settings, Volume Setting, I only have Vehicle Start, Volume Minimization, Speed Dependent Volume Control and Increase Notification Volume. None of them change the volume of the overspeed ticking. Reducing these options did reduce the volume of lane departure that was way too loud from factory setting. But no relief from the ticking.

all this time i thought the FCW/AEB icon was a tree exclaiming something!
@MyAutomobileObsession3 ай бұрын
Thanks for noticing this - it's almost like an ink-blot test where you have to stare at the warning icon for a while until you finally see what they are trying to communicate. I'm glad that you learned something new!

Is that all you get on the Grenadier? 😋 Most EU vehicles now have blind spot warnings, emergency rear brake assist with cross-traffic alert. Tyre pressure monitoring, auto parking and, significantly, auto-steering assist while in adaptive cruise control. This and the lane assist actively steer or assist steering of the vehicle through the almost universal fitment of electric and electronically controlled rack and pinion steering. Also the forward and backward emergency braking and active cruise control will bring the vehicle to a safe complete stop before a collision, something the Grenadier is again apparently unable to do. Does it even have a switchable option of continual braking when stopped, when for instance in a traffic queue with the transmission in D with the engine on or off [off due to stop/start] so that the driver is spared constantly pressing the brake pedal? All of this and more is available on most new vehicles in the EU but particularly as an example, the Ford Ranger pickup truck. The only one of these that is really intrusive on rural roads is the lane keeping assist. All others only work when they need to and very very seldom flag up false or annoying alarms.
@MyAutomobileObsession3 ай бұрын
Basically, yes. You do get some of the standard ADAS features such as ABS, Tire pressure monitoring and the Reverse backup camera which is now mandated in the US, but the 4 ADAS features that I discussed in the video are all that they offer on top of that. So yes, it's a short list! Thanks for your comment!

@@MyAutomobileObsession They just can’t apply any safety features relates to the steering, due to their choice of hydraulic power assistance rather than electronic which can be linked to advanced features. The only way that steering assistance could be incorporated would be through the crude method of applying the brakes to an appropriate wheel independent of other wheels. This is born as an old vehicle with only paying lip service to modernity and that may well be what attracts some people. They want the apparent simplicity of a basic vehicle even though it isn’t at all simple in hidden features because it has to meet modern safety and emission standards. It does not meet non compulsory and latest highest insurance standards though and, if and when it is crash tested, it would probably not get more than two stars out of five.
