Yeah but with that logic, you might think the number of diplomas or certificates measures the quality of information shared, and hopefully we know by now that's not always the case. The actual information shared, and how well or how poorly it is applied, is what's most important here. -admin

This video is Gold. Actually, Fred Hadfield ( Dr. Squat) Really had an understanding of this and he formulated the principles for CAT training. He can actually only squat 830+ pounds when he was preparing to squat 1000 pounds. Instead of using accommodating resistance like using bands or Chains he simply altered the speed of the lifts by accelerating faster throughout the entire range of motion of the concentric portion of the squat. By doing this he was able to manipulate the inertia to mimic the net force output he was about to lift. So without maxing out he was able to train more and finally he was able to squat 1000 pounds.

I would really appreciate it if you could help me a little bit. I tried to calculate how much force does a muscle need to produce during certain movements, e.g. biceps curl, leg extension, lateral raise (and those are isolation exercises and I could find the appropriate answer because most of biomechanics books calculate forces on isolation exercises). How do you calculate a force of a certain muscle on a compound lift (on squats and deadlift I think it is simple - you measure moment arm from line of force to the joint axis of rotation and times if with the amount of load , but how would you calculate force of the triceps during a bench press or a biceps during a chin-up)?? Thank you in advance!!

Great video. I believe most people cheat (use inertia) because just like in the rowing video the strength curve usually makes the exercise hardest when we are weakest and easiest when we are strongest. Dumbbell lateral raise for example. I have adjusted and started doing them at about a 15 to 30 degree incline my side which because it more closely follows the strength curve I can do them under control.
