My problem with lifetime ban of infiltration is one of consistency. You have people who have done far worse, with more evidence. Like Noel Brown. Who are still competing everywhere. The other thing is. The Korean justice system has basically no safeguards for defendants. People need to stop acting like this is the equivalent of being convicted in a US court. Theres no right to silence, They often just hold people in interrogation until they confess. Gotta remember, When Infiltration was born Korea was still a dictatorship. They still have basically the same judicial system as in those days.

Aquaman is right, but it's not specifically MK1 related. It's a long time coming. All the way back in MK11, post-covid, people didn't go to offlines unless it was part of Pro Komp or had a big prize pool. Online there would be all these amazing players, and offline? You'd be lucky if 1/5th of them show up. The money mentality is large in the MK community and has been brewing since the tail end of MKX. We're kind spoiled by generally having a circuit, so outside of it, the grassroots became weak, and when covid hit and everyone double downed with online tournaments, offline grassroots MK tournaments became anemic. I remember last year in Florida BeyondToxin won a offline tournament largely because no one on his level was there. It was a TNS tournament that was pretty big, but it wasn't pro komp so no one showed up. The other wrinkle to it is, there is actually a lot of fresh blood in MK1 who can't compete in Pro Komp because they're too young (per the official guidelines). So it's like, some players aren't going to show up without financial incentive, and other players who would love to show up don't because they don't quality to participate. At the end of the day, the community is doing it to itself. We are failing to show people that the game is worth being interested in, and we deserve what we get. Meanwhile, Smash Bro players are traveling the globe for pennies. They're in Japan fighting demons for candy. I wish we had that kind of passion in our community.

Yes, people were still competing MK11. Congratulations. You're right. People compete in MK1. Thousands in fact from all of the world. Sounds good doesn't it? Thousands of people play and compete in MK1. It must be in a great place. Too bad there's more to the story than that. Too bad we don't live in a vacuum where context doesn't matter. Too bad the number of people competing in MK11 when NRS stopped supporting it quickly became a fraction of a fraction of the ones who played before. Too bad online still had triple the competitors compared to offline. Too bad players began to ignore smaller tournaments and chose to solely pursue offline tournaments for content. Too bad outside of Evo and Combo Breaker the most hype thing MK11 had to offer after support ended were WePlay tournaments that convinced players to actually show up with a fat prize pool only to turn out to be a money laundering scheme. Too bad we aren't talking about some indie fighter where vague "thousands" seems impressive, and we're talking about one of The Big Three. But hey, point me towards an offline grassroots MK11 tournament- not Evo, not Combo Breaker- with a small prize pool that had thousands of players after NRS stopped supporting the game, and I'll say I'm wrong. It's on youtube right? Find that then. No excuses either. I don't want to hear that the conditions are too specific given that these specific conditions were vital to the context of my original comment.

So sad about MK1 because the new characters in the latest patch show that the game has potential to be good, but now they have to try to balance the cast of already existing characters to be just as fun and versatile as the new cast which will be a challenge. Doesn't matter. Law always takes the woman's side first. That's why you always gotta be recording when next, near or around females. That's what saved a dude's ass back in 2013 when his drunk gf, Megan Welter, started going off on him as he was trying to leave and cops were called. Aug. 3, 2013— -- An Iraq War veteran turned NFL cheerleader was arrested for aggravated assault, destroying property and disorderly conduct after she allegedly attacked her boyfriend, who captured the incident on his cell phone. Megan Welter, 29, of Scottsdale, Ariz., is seen on the cell phone video obtained by ABC News angrily questioning her boyfriend about text messages between him and a female friend. "Who is she!" Welter is heard screaming in the footage as her boyfriend, who has not been identified, tries to calm her down. Police were called to the couple's home after Welter placed a 911 call and accused her boyfriend of attacking her. "He smashed my head into tile," she is heard saying on the recording. Video footage released by the Scottsdale Police Department that was shot at the scene of the alleged domestic dispute shows Welter pleading with officers to get her boyfriend out of the home. But it was Welter who ended up being taken into custody on July 20 at approximately 3:15 a.m. after her boyfriend of six months countered with his side of the story. "I was asking her to stop, I was trying to leave, she was pulling out my hair, she was scratching me, she was punching me in my face and I have everything on tape," her boyfriend said in the footage released by Scottsdale police.

I think the issue here is that Infiltration feels a large part of the community views him poorly because of what happened. I don't believe that is the case. However, it seems more likely that Capcom, sponsors, and event organizers see him as a PR liability. He posted a video at one point of one of the fights with his wife. Granted, he was showing that he wasn't doing anything to her and she was screaming at him, but it made him look like poison to companies if one of his first reactions is to jump to social media when something bad happens. More unfortunate is that he couldn't and hasn't resolved the issue neatly. If say he and his partner got counseling and then decided to amicably part ways, it'd be way easier for companies to accept as opposed to a monster that can rear it's ugly head again at any point like it is now.

omg basically this exact situation is what happened to me, except it was MY phone in MY apartment after i had spent the entire day moving her into a NEW apartment and she wouldn't leave my apartment at the very end. her reason to stay even though she had her own place now was 'i have every right to be here legally.' (like that was a good reason when she literally, that day had her own place with MY furniture. i said i would call the police she stole my phone and locked my door to MY room so i kicked in MY door. and took the phone back and she punched me in the face 3x and i pushed her back and called them. the cops showed up and she started crying and sobbing and they charged me with 1 felony and 3 misdemeanors all DV charges. fortunately the COPS lied about when they took the photos so all the evidence was thrown out and i still got DV - Criminal Mischief for breaking my OWN door frame to my room. (and yes i hired my own lawyer) i got no jail time, can never own a gun in America, and it is now (after 3 years essentially wiped from my record.. i forget the term for it.) the one year probation was VERY annoying having to do drug tests and those DV classes.. turns out most guys in there were there for similar reasons.. basically something broke in their house during a fight or loud yelling and pushing.. and in colorado the cops HAVE to arrest one or both parties.. obviously that doesn't work out to well for the men. if you hear of someone having a DV case into the future and they got no jail time you can safely assume it was something like a pushing match.. a "real" DV situation gets jail time. be careful out there boys!

I've watched live video from an actual news reporter filming a woman doing exactly what Infil is accusing his ex of and the reporter was only able to exonerate himself by showing the tape of her faking her own injuries and acting out a faked DV(yelling and slamming herself into a wall, pulling her own hair, while calling for help) while she didn't know she was secretly being recorded. Without the tape, he might have been screwed, so I know its possible...BUT Infiltration's video didn't exonerate him for me, imo, nor convict him. It's just more "her word against his"...and it didn't help that it was heavily edited, complete with sad music and a bunch of audio clips, texts, etc, stitched in under whatever context he wanted them seen in. My personal bottom line: I don't think his job(CPT) should have had any grounds to fire him based on murky, inconclusive DV charges. Capcom did not treat him fairly imo.they just wanted to avoid possible controversy so they sacrificed him. It's the JP way.

He explicitly said he physically took her phone when she was trying to call the cops, and he restrained her as she tried to get it back. You’re ignoring that part and focusing solely on her saying, ‘Why would you do that?’ as if he had something to hide. Just because a woman says something doesn’t mean you have to believe it without question. But this is what surprises me about how people are so desperate to have a story like this covered by button check channel. The channel is effectively for fun and a kind of tabloid "news" source for the stupid side of the fgc and gaming. Somehow, people in fgc believe Ernesto is an investigative journalist. Sure he'll report on what viewers will give him the impression will be popular content for channel views, but it's wild how luche weight is placed by fgc people on him reporting about infils video like it'll be the straw of justice breaking the camel's back to convince gatekeepers and corporations to welcome infil back onto the pro scene. Ernesto has his own limits as a content creator, especially with regards to reporting on the seriousness of something like this. All his covering of this story can do is increase attention of infils video, but again, it'll be for tabloid purposes with no further impact than merely entertaining people seeking entertainment from everything no matter the severity or egregiousness of the subject matter. Ernesto would've had to have been someone with enormous legal impact in either the entertainment industry or have connections legally, and commit himself to fighting on infils behalf, for there to be any real potential for impact by making a video like this. This, unfortunately, is just another video for entertainment purposes because that's the nature of this content, and in particular it is the nature of the types of people that want this kind of thing covered. Sensationalist impact for a quick social thrill for a minute. Then nothing, nothing sustained or driven forward thereafter. So effectively, one is expecting far too much by expecting Ernesto to do more than just report on what he was asked to by his followers, as everyone seems to believe making videos of this subject like this is meant to have some transformative effect without people committing themselves to driving an effective campaign till the end to reinstate infil and have him compensated appropriately for time lost, and defamation of character etc. No ones tryna commit themselves with that much effort to running that kind of campaign, so seeking entertainment through a button check report is all that'll happen. That's how unserious all of this is, and so it should only be expected that it won't be handled clinically and seriously overall

I personally know a homie that was with a chick like this but more unhinged then Infiltration's ex-wife . Not going to go into full details but I will share this , my homie is in his mid 30's , has his own 2 story house that he lives in alone with his elderly pet dogs. half the house is a home studio with recording gear & stuff plus his own business that been very kind to his income. He has his 1st date & meets her for the 1st time few days before Halloween now fast forward to the 2nd week of Dec (it's been 1month & 2weeks he knows her and he goes sees her on the weekends) (very important to know, at this point I haven't meet him at all because this chick is actually my friend I known for years & I just barely started talking to her after 4 years of me cutting her off from my life because she's sketchy AF and gets into bad arguments with any body publicly plus he has a son that's same age as my son 8yrs old at the time. he son was from a 1 night stand with a married man with kids, poor kid has never known or even met his father ever) coming up to the 2nd week of Dec throughout Nov she's boosting that this guy wants her to quit her job and move out of her apartment with son to move in with him at his house. right off the bat I'm feeling RED FLAGS, who does that kind of move within a month or so knowing somebody? my lady , son & I gotten invited to come over at "THE NEW" house and meet this NEW BF. another note , her & her son just moved in 4 days before we came over to meet him. I start chilling with him doing the "MAN" thing while the boys are playing arounf the house & the ladies are making dinner for everyone so we had a moment to be completely alone to talk . before we had that chance to do so or ME TRYING TO GET IN THAT 1on1 with him but was trying to dodge & ditch that chick checking in on us every 5-10mins. so when we were alone in a part of his home where he runs his business sure enough here comes the guard checking on her inmates to see what we are up too the boys gotten into a fight were both our kids where crying their asses off and her son needed her right away. I knew I had maybe some time to REALLY talk with him . straight up I asked , you really wanted them to move in plus have her quit her job too? he instantly got spooked , liked scared to say the wrong thing because I'm on her team and we now own this guy. I assured him that I recently became in good terms with her from never talking with her for 4 YEARS & I don't trust her , I'm calling bullshit. he starts crying a lil. shares with me that he NEVER ONCED SAID OR WANTED THEM TO MOVE IN. that she kept asking him for this by the 3rd week of knowing her and barely finding out she has a kid too. then randomly one day (4days ago) he drives up to his house around 11pm at night coming from his parents house for his Dad's birthday dinner. in his driveway is a U-Haul truck and her with her son sitting outside wondering when he is coming home. WHY HAVEN'T YOU TEXTED ME BACK? WE BEEN WAITING FOREVER FOR YOU!. he explains that when visits his parents they have a rule to turn off their cellphones so that family time will be quality time & that's what they do for many years. he did turn his cell phone on when driving home because he felt he didn't need to. from that day on his stress levels and the fact she just left her apartment & forced her self into his house when he said many times that he doesn't think its a good idea to live together, I barely know you & you busted out having kid a couple weeks ago & he has never even known who his father is or seen any pictures , NOTHING) ........ long story short , my heart made me feel I NEED TO HELP THIS DUDE, he is being violated by her and this shouldn't be happening. I'll stop right here but know that the stuff infiltration was sharing his ex-wife recording him , doing things to make it appear that he is hitting her , infiltration had it light compared to me homie. to the point where he kicked her out and she kept breaking back into his home . he ended up moving away to a different house in a different city. the last night he was at his old house he went to his parents home & she must of been following him because she showed & right away with disrespecting him , his parents . she ended up attacking him in front of his parents so they called the cops on her. she gets locked up gets released the next day. his phone is blowning up saying she wants all her belongings back because if he doesn't she'll have the cops show up with her for stealing & he'll go to jail. he needs to be there at his HOUSE by 1pm so she can get her stuff while he & THE COP are outside. becoming stressed out because he has to go & be around her his mom steps in & tells him not to be there & she'll be there in his place so she can get her stuff. for him to just go to a good friends house and stay the night there. mom's there waiting then the front door is being rudely knocked on non stopped till she opens the door . right away this chick is yelling and stops to realize its his mother and he isn't there. the mother see's a huge purple bump on her forehead that's 4-5 inches off her skull. really fucking bad knot on her forehead . this nut job fucked her self up to make it appear that my homie put hands on her so she could call the cops on him , AN EYE FOR AN EYE ... buuuuuuut she can't because he isn't there . she instantly became quite a was told to quickly get her things & leave, the house is going on the market monday . all his stuff is completely gone but her things ...... which where 2 blankets , one of her pair of shoes she doesn't wear & a pair of shoes for he son that he out grew earlier that year. ................ fuck there was waaaaaay more shit she's done but fuck all this typing , this even gave me flash backs & brought on some stress sharing what lil I did here ............ I'll end it with a quote I made up myself 💯 "LIFE SOMETIMES WILL BRING YOU STRESS, NEVER SMOKE IT" - FiVEL PEREZ-

I'm assuming that filings in criminal cases are public in korea, but I'm an american/I don't know how korean law works given that we, as outsiders, know next to nothing about what really happened, it would be enormously helpful if a korean lawyer in the FGC could look up some of the filings in the case for us, and translate them--as well as share their opinion on the relevant korean law/whether the court's decision was correct
