I always run this type of build but I go FULL SCALE, like first strike with gathering storm, with 3rd item on being magic pen only (Counting boots) kind of scale. Even if I go 0/6 I get so much AP and pen that I am always in the game.

Note: If they have 50 MR naturally, like you did as you bought Shadow Flame, the 40% pen from void staff is 20 pen. The extra AP is nice, but the extra pen from void is probably more damage if you don't benefit from the crits Shadowflame gives, even if they have 0 MR items, especially when you're Veigar. 30 more AP at that point is very little for him.

Tried doing no back Ornn in top and it's just impossible. Tried to go Sunfire health component > Essence Reaver > Warmogs without ever backing just feels like the stars have to align to pull it off. Can see why you showcased it in Jungle.

you need the stars to align for Top Ornn to never back, as well as good tracking of the fruits in the river AND a jungler willing to share/donate/transfer blue buff. Unsealed Spellbook can help, as it gives you access to Clarity for mana restoration, but that can only go so far
