If you're talking about McBeth, it wouldn't be crazy at all.... He's designed 5 brand new molds since he joined discraft. Zues Annax Luna Malta Hades. Why would he switch from molds he specifically designed to be exactly what he wants?

I can't think of a worse example. But let's entertain it anyway.... Would he replace the buzz or zone? I doubt it as those are seen as the most popular molds in their slots. So that leaves what... Undertaker? Force? Replacing those two would really be that much more "nasty" than what he has now? I just don't get it at all help me understand

i feel like knowing a particular brand is better than am open bag with all the discs now days. By knowing a brand you know exactly what their discs do and if you need a particular one to fill a slot iits easy to know which one to go to where as an open bag could make that much harder and cost you a decent chunk of money before you get what your looking for. But i do throw aa somewhat open bag with maily discraft being my main throwers but i do throw a wraith and a dillo as i just havent found anything in discraft that matches those flights. but therein lies the con of a sole company is that sometimes you may not be able to fill that slot at the time.

Open bag concept is the way to go I was old skool Innova only thrower and now since my son started me playing back I am trying out different brands and molds and finding things from each manufacture that has made its way into my bag

In any given round I throw an MVP, Discraft, Discmania, Innova, Prodigy, Thought Space, Kastaplast, Westside, Latitude 64 and Dynamic Discs etc. I love trying everything I can get my hands on.

For pros, the biggest impact of an open bag would be availability of certain 1 speed discs (Glitch, Berg, Polecat, et al.) to dial in what I call the "Barsby" range putt/approach. Other than that, open bag wouldn't have much effect on pro performance.

Been throwing mainly discraft the past couple years but really interested in opening my bag. I bought a berg after trying out a buddy's berg and liked it a lot. Bought a 2 pack of alpacas because they don't seem to fade as hard as my lunas which I kinda like. Plus I throw my destroyers a little farther than my zeuses. Still sticking with the buzzz no matter what. Willing to explore other zone type discs but it'll take a lot to pry them out of my bag.

Open bag is amazing. I would imagine if they put the brain work in and learned the discs anyone sponsored by the big companies with complete lines would likely gain a stroke or two an event, some more others less. Many would suffer from not doing the work. Some would benefit from a disc they are more confident in, and others would from a shot that isn't available to them with their current line.

"Open bag" basically only applies to touring pros, virtually all other disc golfers have an open bag. People may throw certain brands more but rarely exclusive to just one.

I think the best thing I did was go full trilogy bag and be forced to learn the plastic in that brand. Less options the better. I previously liked forcing 12 different manufacturers into my bag and it was too many options.

Before I was Innova and then Trilogy. And now my bag is Lattitude, Dynamic, Discraft and some MVP. I don’t throw Innova or prodigy but that’s more personal reasons.

Open bag is great for amateurs but look at all the top pros who win. None of them win with open bags except for Drew Gibson. He won Vegas last year. Could just be coincidence
