I've fallen in love with custom Axiom discs recently, I've missed so much by not considering MVP, Axiom, Streamline. I've mainly thrown Innova, Infinite Discs, Dynamic Discs, and Latitude 64.

I have a theory why some less known discs works better for Simon; I observed that when I throw a disc a bit nose up, most of my discs are pretty forgiving; I'll lose a bit of distance but it will do what it is supposed to do. Not true with my MVP discs; if I throw a bit too nose up, I get punished; my volt dumps straight away, and my photon start fading too soon. So I need to remind myself and make sure to point their nose down; when I do then I get nice straight and long distances. Simon throws weird lines with weird angles and sometimes throw with nose up on purpose to control the speed and landing behavior of the flight. I think that MVP discs react more strongly to those weird angles and nose up and thus I think thats why Simon has to use unusual discs that behave more in line with his style. Good luck Simon!

Simon - I can’t say how hyped I got when you pulled out a Dimension and said you would be putting it to work on tour. I left an earnest comment urging you to test out this disc a few weeks ago when you first announced your switch because I honestly believed it was the max distance stable driver built for a throw speed like yours. I’m happy to see you’ve found it to your liking and I can’t wait to see your huge drives and crazy skip shots with this disc on tour.

Enjoy watching your learning journey. I’m not a hardcore Gyronaut, but do bag a few of the same discs. Eclipse Resistor and Proton Fireball are the two best forehand roller discs I’ve ever tried. Trace is always excellent. If you want a more stable run, look for the Cosmic Neutron. Hokom signature run is great, but Trace if Spades is beefiest run I’ve thrown. Maybe perfect for your power!

You’re lucky it’s been a very mild winter in MA this year, with almost no snow, so you could get out and throw, even if it’s been cold occasionally (sometimes very cold), and pretty windy.

Remember for a gyro version of a stabilizer get an entropy. Great disc too in windy just gyro of a stabilizer the envy is a 2 fade

Was hoping to still see the Servo in the bag because it's a personal favorite of mine (and I think it would be a better compliment to the Tesla than the Crave), but I'm just happy you took the 2 weeks off to dial in your game and discs to prep for the season. Because as much as I love the KZbin content, I love you playing well on the Pro Tour even more. Glad you're being honest with yourself and throwing what's working for you too, and not forcing things like putting an Envy in the bag just because everyone else at MVP does, when it isn't working for you. 11 speeds have always been my go to distance speed for the exact reasons you mention. I've bagged atleast 2 (sometimes up to 4 lol) wraiths since they came out. I now have a couple Royal Grace's as well for a bit more turn and glide. But yea 11 spd is the way to go

Those are some solid disc choices. It's going to be trial and error for you to figure out which discs you feel most comfortable with. Everyone has different size hands and some discs feel better to others. I really love the glow Envy it fits my hand really well. I have kind of smaller hands so maybe thats why. I like the glide on the envy has as well. My favorite discs are the glow envy, proton fireball, and nuetron octane. Surprised you took the Octane out thats a really good driver IMO too. They say its understable online, but the one I had was super overstable (orange nuetron plastic) so I dont know about that lol.

I believe MVP has said their Proton/Neutron plastic now is just difference in being opaque or not. No durability difference like from Champion to Star. Altho imo Neutron still has a little better grip. Also awesome to see we have the exact same mid range lineup! The Pyro is such a good disc.

Is Cosmic Neutron more overstable in general? I picked up a few MVP discs in that plastic (because of Simon of course) and they were all more overstable than I expected. But I have a 50 year old noodle arm so it’s hard to know.

I like the proxy better than the envy too. It took a long time to realize it and they're both beat, but the proxy is my go-to and the envy is closer to utility. It makes sense in retrospect - James throws his envy super hard and it's beat in. He didn't retire the famous envy until he had the chance to beat a new one in over the off season.
