I appreciate you brother! Absolutely great video. I was able to clean the switches and get it back together. Tomorrow I reinstall the seat. Man getting those switches back together is a tricky process though!... I ended up needing a second set of hands and used two exacto knives to hold the switches and springs in place, coming in from the side to keep the switches held down in place, and then slowly pulling them out while pushing the translucent cap back on. For other folks that are going to do this project, a cheap pick set (with the small srew driver type handles), or a "dental pick set," the exacto knives, and a tiny flat head screw driver to help push the springs back in when you reassemble (all of which are at Harbor Freight and very inexpensive) will make the job much easier. I used all of them. Also, if you are going to do this at home, take photos as you take it apart, so there are no questions about how to put it back together. You will need to have patients and I needed a second person, just at the very end, to put the switch back together.

Glade you were able to fix your issue. Yeah it's a bit of a pain getting back together but once you get the hang of it, it's prey simple.

Thanks. Sounds like you got some work on your hands. Just finished troubleshooting some P codes myself.. took me three weeks to figure out why I kept having random misfire codes.. swapt out the cam sensors with 3 different brands.. end up being that the sensors were good all along.. it was the green connectors that attached to the sensors that were bad at the back of the engine... Needless to say I lost a few hairs on that one ... Lol

Dont know why you would to test after cleaning. If the seat switch is not working and you open up the two contacts as I show here and there dirty (black) then that's your issue. Once there clean.. your good to go.. reassemble and try..
@Venolin110 ай бұрын
@@TheChemistDIY not necessarily - those 'welds' don't just collect carbon deposits, they also deform due to the constant arching that happens when the circuit opens and closes, so cleaning isn't gonna get you a working switch 100% of the time. To test on the bench, test continuity. Place your red probe in the connector to probe the red wire and then use your black probe on all the other wires except the black - there's 6 wires in total, 1 black, 1 red and the other 4 are for the switches itself, probe each wire while triggering each switch - you should get a resistance on your multimeter as close to zero as possible, anything higher than 0.1 Ohms and the switch is still bad.

Can you do this for me and I’ll pay you ?
@TheChemistDIY3 жыл бұрын
Sorry brother, I cannot. I don't want to be responsible for anything that may go wrong or if you not satisfied with my work... It's not a hard fix if you follow the video.. just take you time and try not to snap any of the retaining clips that keep it closed.
