thx i was searching about this, i think it depends the model, like i have a sedan '09 and its bolted differently, so close to transmission i cant take it off, ill try removing bracket that holds catalytic converters and jack there, it sucks

@@vqfelix i removed 2 top nuts of transmission mount and loosen up the 4 bolts around, unbolted the exaust lines from bracket and javked transmission under this bracket

my cars steering wheel was very stiff and it also makes a little squeaky noise when turning sometimes and doesn’t turn back when doing turns, so i changed my power steering pump and bled the system and it’s still stiff. what else could it be ?

This doesn't have a sensor I think only newer infiniti and 350z have the sensor. I would just say transfer your oem one

I have a 2007 Infiniti g35x. There is an electrical connection attached to the pinion gear assembly. Do you know what this is called? I can't find it anywhere, and new pinion gear assemblies come without it.

It's a seleniod that gives you more assistance when turning the wheel. If the replacement didn't come with one, then it's not the correct one for your vehicle

You need a high end scan tool that can rest steering angle sensor if you didn't move the steering wheel if shouldn't need to be reset

Yes but I don't recommend doing it if you don't have experience

In the end, it's cheaper and more reliable just to replace the rack. I just ordered one off of rock auto. Rack, power steering pump and 2 end links was $780 CAD with shipping.

The G37s have a subframe in the way you would need to support the engine while it's off

How do you know what dead center is for the steering wheel? Eyeballing it seems too iffy

Only way to know 100 percent is to get a scan to that can read the steering angle sensor, but most don't have 1k for one

Try getting the steering wheel as close to dead center as u can before u disassemble anything. Then, use painters tape to tape the steering wheel in place along with sharpie timing marks on the tape. Helps keep it close

@@ezkoshows7136 hi, i loosen the transmission mount that is around mid car (removed the 2 nuts at the top, and loosen the 4 bolts around), and unbolted exaust lines leaving the bracket there, i jacked under this bracket, i took pictures if you ever need

@@jonathanc8513 oh man sounds like a lot of work, my inner tie rod broke so I was debating if I should just replace the tie rod or the whole rack and pinion but I might just replace the tie rod then lol

It's similar, but your subframe is in the way, so it might slide out

Do you know anything about the q50 electric steering rack n pinon? My steering has a clunking noise when moving the steering wheel and insane steering wander knocking my toe spec out of alignment

I would check your inner tie rods jack up the front of the vehicle and check for movement while your steering wheel us locked

the factory specs for the play in the rack n pinon is 16.7 mine is at 1.38 so that's obviously the problem. 35mm is way too much play. Defective in my opinion

More than likely a 2wd. I don't think the coupes came in AWD
