I don't exactly know why anyone would think of making an Avengers Infinity War Snow Globe, but here we are! Something about the macabre nature of this idea was very appealing!
This was a fun challenge using many materials that I have never had the opportunity to mess with, including running fiber optics in models. I had always been intimidated by them, but I am happy to report that it was shockingly easy! Just don't get the plastic kinds too close to the hot glue gun nozzle... :( Don't ask how I know :P
Any project that I can use 3d modeling, 3d printing, LEDs, electronics, sculpting and painting together is a triumph! While there are certainly things I can improve on, it is important to know when to set something aside and move on. Perhaps with enough interest, i can elaborate on any of the specifics in a later video!
Here are some of the Tools/materials I used to create this project:

Maybe not the snow globe in itself, but the "being trapped in a glass bubble" actually fits the superhero universe quite well. You could be The Collector from Guardians of the Galaxy...

That's it?? Just some black confetti flying around with some blinking lights? This is with like a 1.99$. globe. This isn't something that *SPARKS* .. it's _rather_ -bland- .. 😒😒

I don't recall sparks being an effect used when Thanos snapped, but now I have to go rewatch them to be sure. Gee thanks. Also, there are no blinking lights. Are you sure that you even watched the video? 🤷‍♂️

Sorry man, that circuit board can't work as shown. I had stopped the video to comment, so I had to add that the results were very nice. How did you fix that board?
@Geeksmithing
@Geeksmithing 2 жыл бұрын
It actually did, but as you surmise there are additional steps not shown such as the acid bath etc, and soldering components on... I didn't want to get too in the weeds in some areas and chose to cut those details. I did have a couple traces breaking as the project progressed. I plan on revisiting the electronics on this project soon and address my struggles and things I learned along the way. It was my first board created in this method, and I look forward to giving it another go!

@@Geeksmithing I looked at the video again and saw I was wrong about what you were doing. I saw the black paint, or covering on my second look. I had originally thought you ablated the copper itself. Below R3, I thought I could see a tattered trace, and other places I could see no trace (or so I thought). I think it was my mistake about how the laser was being used and then thinking I could see faint traces of remaining copper in the black areas. Those, apparent, traces are probably due to light reflecting off the black, giving it kind of a copper color. Again, look in the middle of the black "traces" (that I now know to be your etch resist) in the trace between R3 and Battery I've made some boards like that (where the actual traces got etched too narrow) and it looked so similar. I also should have know that laser ablating the copper wouldn't really work.
@Geeksmithing
@Geeksmithing 2 жыл бұрын
@@DavidKenny64 there are some isolated areas on the board where different things are plugged in, so not all of them are connected. That may be what you saw. 🤷‍♂️🤪 Aren't DIY projects fun?! 🤓👍
