I find Drax's always knowing where Thanos is SO COOL. I don't know why. Just the very idea that he can always sense where he is could have so much dramatic potential in the movies.
@comics_explained10 жыл бұрын
It plays out that way in the comics aswell. Often times Drax has to form an alliance with Thanos, which drives him crazy.

What you said at the end about how you wanted to see Thanos written, as not one demential is EXACTLY how I see him and wanted to see him written as well. I’ve never seen him as a villain but as more an anti hero, a very complexed man. With many sides to him. For example, in the film Infinity War, when he first meets Gamora, he is SO patient and so gentle and so loving it melts me!

Id say a trilogy would be better, the problem with all these superhero movies is the villains have almost no onscreen time and next to no character development. Then they wanna show them at the end for like ten minutes and wrap it up.

I'm sure Thanos will be developed a little in GotG2. But I think Avengers 3 should be Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and should introduce the Time Gem. And then Infinity Gauntlet should be a 2-part Marvel Universe event instead of just an Avengers movie.

Sounds like Thanos was pretty freaking stupid for how smart he's supposed to be. Captain Marvel: "Fight me one on one without your godly powers that you went to great lengths for!" Thanos: "Okay, just give me a minute. I'll just transfer all this power into the cube where i got it from. I mean, this thing is made out of glass. What could possibly go wrong?"

If Thanos wasn't such a nice guy to her, Death would return his affections more often. I mean, the guy showers her with attention, affection, and gifts all the time. I'm sure she appreciates it, but he comes across as too sensitive; it has to be driving her out of her mind. There's no passion or mystery in their relationship and, worse, all of the attention is probably a bit smothering to her. I'm sure she loves him; otherwise, she wouldn't empower him like she does. He needs to step back a bit, be a bit more spontaneous, and not do as much for her all the time. It'll help bring the spark back to their relationship, and she'll appreciate him more. You know, I just realized I'm analyzing a relationship between Thanos and The Marvel personification of Death.
@DarthMohammedRules10 жыл бұрын
Death is a manipulative bitch. She's simply using Thanos, like a gold digger uses some rich guy, because he has the potential to shower her with the gifts she finds most pleasing... death and destruction. She doesn't care about Thanos in the slightest. If she wasn't using HIM, who else would get the job done as well?

@wierzbowskirulz10 жыл бұрын
The reason death despises thanos is because he betrayed her by attaining the infinity gems to be her equal. But by doing so became her superior. She was nothing more than dust compared to his power. And the reason he cant die is because then death would forever be surrounded by him. Basically when he cursed deadpool with eternal life it was not fully out of jealousy but at the hatred of his own immortal soul. Thanos besides being one of the few godlike cosmic villains.. is also the closest to a true actual human in regards to his emotions.. from loathing and love to low self esteem and self worth. He wants to kill and destroy everything not to be king... But to satisfy his own desire for death.

The thing I like about the choice of Josh Brolin to play Thanos in the Marvel movies is that he's a skilled enough actor to be BOTH a lumbering brute who spouts one-liners and an intelligent villain who can deliver a "Why you suck" soliloquy while pounding an entire army into the ground with his bare hands.

great video but some misinformation. -Thanos died in '77 and returned in '90. It's stated he's gone for almost 25 years, when in fact it was less than 15 years. -Drax was brought back by Koronos (his original creator), not Chaos and Order. -Thanos was brought back not because he was important like Galactus but because more were alive now than any point before so Death wanted him to kill half the universe. (That he represents more comes up later in Guardians of the Galaxy almost two decades later for Thanos Imperative.) -He was tasked in Silver Surfer issues 34-50 with killing half the Universe. While Silver Surfer is trapped on a planet, Thanos gathers the gems in Thanos Quest. Silver Surfer/Thanos Quest are GREAT reading for the character build up to Infinity Gauntlet.

Thanks for posting these “Comics Cliff’s Notes,” they really help people like me that enjoy comics but never followed any of the characters to the levels you are able to explain! It’s very interesting to see what characters from what universes are used as Easter Eggs in the many MCU films. It’s funny, because if you REALLY wanted to go nuts with the various worlds that Marvel’s various sub-labels cover it’d be cool to see more featuring Vertigo characters but we’re talking an almost unending world of stories and players with which to play! In the end, all I REALLY care about is Disney keeping up a good job avoiding “DISNEFYING” movies (like the original Star Wars Trilogy’s butchering of story lines AND characters).

Yes, Thanos most powerful weapon is his "Intelligence". But whats makes him more dangerous is when he goes serious and started using everyone of his might in order to defeat someone. That's what I enjoy about Thanos the most sometimes he needed to use his brain in order to not engage in drag out fight like what dragon ball does.

Dude, you put quite a lot of work into your videos, and do an absolutely amazing job. Your explanations are fantastic and if I was able to speak like you during a speech in college I would’ve went on to be an attorney (never ever politician though, so please do yourself a favor and keep pumping out the ComicsExplained videos, and please don’t find a love for politics. It totally ruins good people. Plus your analysis of Marvel Comics and the MCU and both how they relate and how they don’t, not to mention-I could be wrong-but you DC videos I swear I remember seeing, they were educational. Not only the stories, but the possible futures, and the amazing plots... I’m gunna stop.) Your videos are the ones I watch when I need to know something that doesn’t make total sense at times. And being that you explain the comics you also clarify the MCU for me as well. I still haven’t looked through all your videos. Just the ones that were necessary with the eternals, and the big bad cosmic beings. I love the movies, but we only get so many, vs the comics we have access to. So knowing the mythology more than I already do is something that helps with my hypotheses for certain MCU movies. IMPORTANT: we have the MCU which is nearly hulletproof, the DCEU which I’m sure will get a bit better as long as they keep up then WomderWoman, Flash (big deal), and Superman (which I felt he needs more of attitude adjustment just don’t know how. People should love him as much as WomderWoman or a little less since WW is exceptional. The MCU and the quantum realm seems to be exciting. I hope they get I got these explanations. Quantum mechanics is something that I’ve studied for years and to explore the millions of ways to use these fundamental laws are mind blowing and can add so much craziness. Even taking Ant-Man’s experience was a great direction since aft the snap that seems to be to way to resolve this merciless finger snap. Sorry I’m trying to be quick, but my main point is for you to understand you deserve the praise for helping to teach some of us who don’t currently have the time to go through so many books and then check the MCU stories.... You’re my favorite channel so far, thank you!

To me this (Thanos in the MCU) makes a great movie series even better. When I saw him at the end of Avengers I just about lost it. Not only is he my favorite villain of all time he might just be my favorite character of all time. Knowing that eventually he's the end game of the MCU at some point just makes me love the MCU that much more. The Infinity Gauntlet hands down IS one of the best stories (comic book or otherwise) I've ever read. It blew my mind when it first came out and has stuck with me to this day.

A problem is that Thanos could have misplaced the Infinite gems on the Gauntlet. The fitting may have needed to be put on the positions of his chakra points. There's 5 chakra positionings on the fingers, and another positioning on the palm. The 7th positioning isn't there so as not to bring Nemesis back to life. I looked at photos and the chakra points are in different areas. Thanos has the Infinite gauntlet on his left hand in that picture which is right neo-cortex based as the right neo-cortex operates the left side of the body so it's feminine spirit, which makes sense because Nemesis is a female. I think it's yellow as thumb, blue as pointer finger, green as middle finger, red as pinky finger, indigo for index finger, and orange of what goes on the backhand area.

I've got an interesting thought that maybe you could address really quick. Could Thanos pick up Mjolnir? With the power of the Infinity Gauntlet, I wonder.....
@comics_explained10 жыл бұрын
Jeremy Cox Handling Mjolnir is not contigent on physical strength or power but worthiness. That being said, with the Infinity Gauntlet, I would thing it would be possible. Not sure though.
@coxjeremy710 жыл бұрын
Yeah I thought about that, but then I was thinking..well could the reality gem alter whatever power was placed on Mjolnir?
@comics_explained10 жыл бұрын
That's a question I don't know the answer to. Everyone who has wielded the hammer was deemed worthy by Odin. During the infinity Gauntlet, Thanos had no interest in the hammer for obvious reasons.
@coxjeremy710 жыл бұрын
Yeah he already had all the power he needed, I just thought it was an interesting thinking point. So thanks for answering! I've been reading the comics on the infinity gauntlet story line, it's crazy awesome and rediculous but because of the way they have to approach Thanos to defeat him, I don't think they'd be able to do that in the third Avengers film... but then i wonder what they are going to do with the gauntlet and Thanos if not try and follow the storyline.
@kingrell881910 жыл бұрын
Jeremy Cox I agree, but which storyline? the movie or book?
