I've been hearing the original of this song since it was released in about the late 1970s. It's a rock classic from that time period and a very distinctive and singular piece of music. Many classics just shouldn't be fooled around with. It's exceedingly difficult to do justice to a classic. Either you do it EXACTLY how it was originally done or you damn well better be sure you do it in a way that honors the original while adding something new that adds to it's stature without distracting from the original. Doing that is damn hard to do with a great piece of music that has also become a part of the people to whom it meant so much from the beginning. This interpretation does all that! I grew up with the Beatles while they were together and actually saw them on Ed Sullivan on TV in 1964 when they made their debut in the Untied States. (I'm a 62 year old white man.) The Beatles inspired me to become a musician and in most ways they are the standard for me when I hear any popular music. There have only been a handful of Beatles songs covered by others over the past 55 years that have added to the originals and to my ears this song is just like that with this Fleetwood Mac classic. From those first guitar notes and that smooth as silk & honey voice at the beginning, I had goose bumps on my arms which is rare for me. My ears make my body react like that when I hear something so beautiful. There's no thinking involved. It's a soul reaction. These young people were the perfect example of what musicianship should be. True musicianship is about the music... first and last. These guys were all playing with one mind. This was like falling into a retrospective cloud of a dream that I didn't want to wake from. It brought tears to my eyes. It was that good. Bravo! Bravo!

Dreams of loneliness Like a heartbeat drives you mad In the stillness of remembering what you had And what you lost And what you had Ooh, what you lost Thunder only happens when it's rainin' Players only love you when they're playin' Women, they will come and they will go When the rain washes you clean, you'll know Oh, thunder only happens when it's rainin' Players only love you when they're playin' Say women, they will come and they will go When the rain washes you clean, you'll know You'll know You will know Oh, you'll know

the warm lassitude that suffused my bones and permeated my soul. after listening to this reminds me of the power that comes with making a good cover your own. they say that as you die your brain is flooded with chemicals giving you a sense of euphoria. well then, let listening to this be a slow death and the greatest high I'll have the pleasure to experience today. Afro/funk/Psychodelic this was an idyllic trip into what the height of love and acceptance in a romanticized version of the '70s must have been like and their voices made it tangible.
