You mentioned that that intelligence you outline also branches out to other intelligence. I agree with you about the INFJ's baseline. I like to mention a couple of intelligence branches that I grew. Existential intelligence. For myself and at least one other INFJ believes at a young age, INFJs go thru a midlife crisis. We ponder at a young age existential life's questions that by the time we reach midlife, we got most of them worked out and at midlife we are Zen about it. So when other people reach midlife, they have a very short timeline to start figuring out what's really important in life (it's not material gains), that they panic and have the classic midlife crises. Since INFJ's had our midlife crises as young adults, we are better at guiding other's in their late life thru their existential crises. I am a big proponent of the Triune Brain Theory, that the human brains (noticed by brain surgeons back in the 1960's) has three distinct layers to it by evolution: the reptilian brain, the mammalian brain, and the higher brain (neocortex) also known as the executive brain that regulates the two lower brain functions. Psychology tends to focus on only two variables - IQ (higher brain) and emotions (mammalian brain). What's hardly deep dive on is the reptilian brain that are our instincts, people's autopilot functions. These autopilot psychology are what creates the most confusion among the sexes, it's a missing variable in mainstream psychology, it's the gender differences speaking a totally different language from one another, and one needs a Rosetta Stone to decipher the two different reptilian languages. So, I deep dived on a particular intelligence branch and raised it's IQ - "masculine intelligence." I am at the level now where I am curious about raising my IQ in the feminine intelligence to understand women better, I already gotten a good understanding, and it serves me well to understand their unique language program.

Good to know about the reptile brain 😊

@@cristianerodriguesneves5762 especially when it's raw and untamed by the higher brain (maturity)...that's when we enter the realm of toxicity.

Thank you for sharing this! I definitely agree about the existential intelligence, and that INFJs in particular are so good at helping others deal with these kinds of concerns and worries. I am so curious about the other facets of intelligence you wrote about and love that you explore raising your intelligence in those areas rather than being limited. I love that we can all transcend beyond our type and grow in areas that maybe aren't our most natural at first glance. Thanks so much for your input!

@@PsychologyJunkie Thank you. The Triune Brain Theory and masculine intelligence, I mainly learned from Dr. Paul Dobransky. The bulk of Dr. Paul's work is borrowed from Carl Jung being the first to decode mythology and how it relates to our gender differences. The theory is, Ancient Civilizations knew about the IQ spectrum in people (some people are quicker, and some were slower in their thought processes) and they also had labeled all the different emotions that humans experience, and since both genders had the capacity for both, they couldn't understand why men and women's psychology were so different from one another. So, they invented mythology to explain the differences and they decoded masculinity and femininity by using gods and goddesses, and their unique stories, using symbolism. In essence, every man has masculine circuits called the Gods, and every woman has feminine circuits called the Goddesses. They’re are slight difference between the equivalent Gods and Goddesses. For example, Ares and Athena. Ares is the god of war, he is all about shock- n-awe brutality and winning the battle as quickly as possible. Athena is the goddess of war and wisdom, so she uses wisdom first and if that doesn’t work, then she goes into battle. If you ever see men fight, it’s explosive, women tend to talk it out first and if that doesn’t work, then they go to blows with one another. So, the Ares Instinct in men is very useful in a surprise attack, like in a home evasion, you want the man to instantly jump into action to save the family, you want his Ares Instinct coming online. Dr. Paul not only goes into great details about the three brains, he also decoded how Gods and Goddesses, and the shadow side of humanity like Narcissus myth and the Medusa myth (BPD), and decoded the symbolism in common, layman terms so everyone can understand.

As an INFJ, I can confirm I had my existential crisis when I was 16 - 18 years old. I am almost 40 now and I am glad to say, I am calm and content, having a deep understanding of what life is all about.

Like always, it was a very informative video. Being an INFJ I can relate almost everything you mentioned about the intelligence, intuition, seeing abstract meanings or bigger pictures etc. Secondly, I would like to know about how to maintain a balance between the super ego and id for an INFJ especially when it comes to empathy because in certain situations INFJs, especially me, tend to become people pleasurer and people take advantage of that. And at the end even after having a strong intuition about people's behavior INFJs find themselves unable to express themselves in order to maintain the harmonious environment and suffer in silence,sabotaging themselves,till they are completely burnt emotionally. I would be really grateful if you make a video about this or write and article regarding it .

Thank you Aditya! This is an amazing suggestion. Let me ponder over it for a bit to see if I have good information and ideas and then I will try to make a video :)

I was very academic always within the top three in high school. Someone asked me how I did well; how I learned. I think a lot of it was “seeing” the answers I think that might have been the symbology thing. I didn’t need quiet to learn though I needed my brain stimulated always had background noise on. I thought this might be because we’re movement types?
@PsychologyJunkieКүн бұрын
That's amazing, and interesting! I haven't heard that about movement types. I'm not even sure what a movement type is to be honest! I'd love to learn more. Where have you found that information? Thanks for sharing your experience!

INFJs I have known in real life are those who had perfect SAT scores, or near perfect scores…. So that Ball State study is in alignment with my own experience… By spending time with them, I definitely get smarter. lol.😂 🧠 🏋️♀️

i am into gore stuff, we can find online. no i am not a serial killer nor a rapist nor any horrible thing like that. but i got into gore because it displays infront of my eye the reality of this universe, kinda rude awakening type thing. what's your take on that from a psychology stand point
@PsychologyJunkie12 күн бұрын
I don't want to try to explain too much without a lot more time and thought and research, however it does seem like an Enneagram 5 quality possibly. Fives often believe that by exposing themselves to the darker corners of the psyche via research they can somehow be "prepared" for anything or for the anxious reality of the world around them. I've known a lot of Fives who do this kind of thing, so that's a possibility. I hope this helps!

I was traumatized by covert narcissist, who has no shame or guilty. It felt like someone inside had demon. The person did not know I already know about what kind of person she is but I did not expect that much disturbing human exists except TV show or news. Don’t trap into covert narcissists at all cost. I don’t think people hate INFJ but they try to take advantage of our good nature but they don’t know we’re beyond. I’m not INFJ but I’m related to this. I’m INXP type but I have a tendency of INFJ in reading people with psychic abilities and always help people accordingly. No more though. I’m recovering from the trauma!!!

Fe dominent in IxFJ literally causes more unhealthy in unhealthy society! INFJ are at least capable of doing things with critical thinking skills and multi tasks so they are not problems but contribute to unhealthy but ISFJ is not bright so it turns them to covert narcissists! Covert narcissists inside demon but outside three different faces like movie. ISTJ fall into Kruger dunning effect ISFJ turn into covert narcissists I try to avoid both types at all cost but I love INFJ types but try to stay away since their behaviors drive me nuts out of hell 😅
