I kind of agree with Peter's assessment of Trump , he was good on everything but the debt and deficit , I think he wanted to be liked so he became a big spender. Suggest in principle yes, but consider this scenario: AMZN controls access to a particular product by pricing out competition. They can afford to do that. Now they control price discovery. You may say well people can just stop buying, but how realistic is that? Maybe AMZN can't capture a market, but I'm not sure I'd count them out. Not just price discovery, but ownership and time discovery is affected by captured market capitalism. MSFT with Windows is a good example, moving us to a rental model with advertising interruptions. Some of that stuff can be turned off, but some of it can't. At any rate, you no longer own your Windows license; you are now forced to lease it. So this is an example of captured market capitalism allowing the "You'll own nothing and be happy" mindset, just as Communism does. So what I'm suggesting is that captured market capitalism devolves into Communism.

We have a generation or two now that has absolutely no financial awareness, no ability to save or plan for retirement, because they haven't been taught to, and that is completely by design. We need a strict regiment of schooling from a young age that teaches our next generation to fend for themselves. That's what this country was, and should be all about.
