Honestly I'm petty...I would lock the gate and put up a sign with the rates I'm charging for photoshoots. 30 min. 1 hour. And if you go over an hour I'm charging you for the next whole hour. I can't control them on the street but they're definitely not hanging off of my front steps unless they plan on renting the "set"
@heatherhernandez4304
@heatherhernandez4304 6 ай бұрын
This is what I was thinking. But “charging “ could actually give you more legal grounds in court. I’m not sure how it works in England, but in the US it would take it from a minor misdemeanor trespassing charge to a much more costly and serious charge if you are costing someone their “business “ or profits.

Reminds me of a pretty baffling short I saw a few weeks ago. These 3 women were filming themselves dancing outside someone's particularly nice London townhouse and a woman living there sat down at the window in her dressing gown with a coffee. The dancers had the audacity to get annoyed and harass her about ruining the "aesthetic" of their shot. They told her to either close her curtains or move somewhere she wouldn't be seen by their camera until they were done. The video was from the resident, who I'm happy to report did neither, lol. She sat at HER window, enjoying her coffee and drawing attention by waving, etc. until the dancers eventually gave up and left, lol. The NERVE of some people! Imagine thinking you have the right to dictate what someone does in their own home, just because you want to use said home for views! 🤯 At the time, when I saw that short, I didn't know about this being such a problem around parts of London, but it really doesn't surprise me, tbh. It's appalling and baffling, but unfortunately not surprising.

Totally agree! 💯 If they feel like they really HAVE to release the balloons couldn't they just use something like fishing line or something that you wouldn't see to make it look like they were floating up in outer space but then you get the shot and pull the balloons back down to earth with you? I mean no one needs to be actually releasing balloons but if you felt like you just absolutely HAD TO couldn't you just at least be considerate enough to figure out a way to bring them back down and not have them float into the environment and end up as litter somewhere? Also comment about helium is real. I only recently found out about this but that comment was totally right. Helium is not renewable and is used in things like MRI machines.

The houses shown are so old they will be classed as Grade 1 protected. Meaning you can change absolutely nothing about them. They have to stay in the same form as the rest of the street. You have to have special window glazing in the old style to keep the noise out. If you needed to replace tiles or the door, it would have to be specially made in the same style. You would be very lucky to be allowed to have any form of signage on the front, so I'm betting sprinklers would definitely be a no no. You are told you have a Grade 1 or Grade 2 listed building when buying a property. However, when these people or their families bought these buildings, "Viral" was something to steer clear of.

This is his home not a tourist attraction. I would put an ugly poster or cardboard cutout in windows, I would lock and chain the gate, and have a motion sensor with a dog to scare people. I value my home, privacy and security. And yes it accurate that rare, Victorian tiles are expensive, same with the railings. I’m all for being polite and if I had a beautiful home I would love that people looked at it maybe a photo on the pavement, NOT the steps. The influencers have been doing their thing round here for years and years (never right outside my place, I'm glad to say) The horrible entitlement of people who think it's fine to be right up against someone's front door like that! Breaking poor Mr Pink House's tiles and whatnot. I also thought it was the Instagram crowd I was observing, when I used to walk from Ladbroke Grove to Holland Park tube every day, before Covid, before work from home. I guess TikTok were kinda new back then, the TikTok crowd were in their infancy. Enjoy yourself, young Influencers, but don't make people's home lives a misery. I guess it would be fun when you see your first TikTok group dance by enthusiastic amateurs, through your front room window, but the heart would sink as it becomes a daily reality and your paintwork gets chipped and your gate's broken now, because someone tried to do an acrobatic move on it. I enjoyed this video 😄

I was talking to a colleague of mine about this, their answer, “so what those houses are worth a fortune so those rich people can afford it!”The guy is a colleague not a mate now I remember why. Regardless of the value of these homes people are surely allowed a degree of privacy. Aside from that what about the inconvenience to other pedestrians and motorists 🤦‍♀️

That area used to be sketchy. I went to Carnival with a friend whose parents lived in a huge house there in 1992. They probably still do. There were a lot of ordinary people, not rich, there. The man who has been there for all that time might find it hard to afford those repairs. It's scary having people outside your home, I would be worried about confronting them in case they were abusive. They must know it's wrong to trespass but do it anyway

I live in Salem, Massachusetts and for the entire month of October people like this flood the streets and you can barely walk around, let alone get to your job! I’m lucky that I live here year-round so I can get those nice pictures on the off-season. I love the architecture so I enjoy walking around town enjoying the scenery but in October it’s completely filled with people. This last October was the absolute worst because of all of the Instagram/TikTok influencers trying to get their witchy aesthetic pictures. Good luck getting a picture in front of the Witch House unless you want to wait while 50 other people line up like it's a theme park and glare at you to hurry up so they can take their own picture. I get it as someone who visited and loved it so much that I ended up moving here but I definitely have a problem with it if it’s on someone’s private property or if they’re breaking things, especially in a place like Salem where a lot of the tourist destinations should be respected since it is a place where a lot of people were wrongly accused and sentenced to death, and yet people will pose on top of tombstones or try to deface property. Historic landmarks deserve respect!

It's things like this that make me kinda happy we don't have strict gun laws in the US! I came out of work to find some ridiculous looking man children posing all over my Hellcat. I walked up to them and asked if that was really their car or if they just rented it for the day. They proceeded to tell me all about how much money they make and that this was only one of ten other luxury cars ( I believe the word Lambo left one of their mouths). I asked them how much "their" Hellcat cost and they told me "only 400K! I couldn't let it go on any longer. I busted out laughing, unlocked MY car with my key fob and told them that my SRT was only 120K because that is how much they cost fully loaded with every package available, 95K factory standard. I then told them to learn the difference between American muscle cars and foreign luxury cars that cost a lot of money to import and is reflected in the price. I think one of them called me a bitch.

My Aunt lives across the street from a famous NYC building. People used to stop, take a picture and move on. We still have normal tourist pics, but now we have the TikTok ghouls. They have long photo shoots that block the sidewalk and street. People climbing and hanging off the fences. I’ve seen people literally blocking NYC traffic trying to get a photo with more of the building. NYC is loud, noise is constant, but we still know when an idiot is blocking traffic, because of the repetitive honking to clear the street. What’s insane is it’s rarely teenagers, it’s sober 20 something’s who should know better. They should be past that selfishness, should know that there behavior is disruptive and destructive.

There was a picturesque farm that went viral here in Vermont, near where I live. The problem is...Vermont is so small, we don't have the road infrastructure....and that Farm is privately owned. My entire morning commute was made longer. I saw people going on private property to take pictures (this is a castle doctrine state). They clogged the roads, and in some instances ambulances couldn't get by. I just wanted to freaking get to work. It was terrible. I don't know how to stress that if people are going to visit, they need to respect our community and let the people who live here get on with our lives. I'm in direct support and I care for others. Other people depend on me to show up for work on time. Your Tiktok videos do not outweigh the importance of my clients.

Oh man, I remember this being a huge problem with instagram influencers a few years ago. My ex’s brother and sister-in-law lived in Notting Hill in the late 2010’s. They didn’t even live in a picturesque Notting Hill house- they lived in an apartment building, but even they had issues. The building had a GORGEOUS garden courtyard, and people kept trying to sneak in or even climb the building’s tall iron gate to get in and take pictures. I guess when the owners asked the influencers to leave their houses, they would look for another place to trespass on for photos. My ex’s brother and SIL actually held their wedding in the building’s courtyard, and there were multiple jokes made about the ceremony being interrupted by trespassing influencers.

I cannot explain to you how ridiculous it has become. One day I came home to find a girl dressed in a black bin bag, body hanging half out the communal bin outside my house- throwing rubbish in the air and having her friend snap pictures. When I dared to say something I got a rapid blink back. You can’t walk down streets, they block the middle of the road. I get it, it’s pretty and colourful but DAMN IT we can’t breathe 😭. People using your window sill as a tripod, laughing and screaming at your windows. Brunch queues hours long only for nobody to be eating at all! The weekends are like an assault course… and I don’t even have a pretty house!! And this isn’t even with the normal passing tourists at the weekends. The neighbourhood is welcoming and kind, it’s nice to have fresh energy come through. Some of the content being made seems nice. But can we not all be extras, tripping over you in your personal movies when we run to buy toilet paper with sleep in our eyes.

I've only encountered an influencer in the wild once and it was when i was traveling back home to the Philippines with my bf. We went to a stunning local waterfall and were in awe of it, the water was amazing and so clean. You could pay the local guides to take you on a raft to go under the falls and this one woman in a very skimpy swimsuit showed up and rented the raft (we all use the same one) and instead of going under the falls she just had the guide take pictures of her doing various poses, she didn't even swim, she just had her pictures taken and then left. Now mind you the trek down to the falls is not easy and entrance isn't free, so it just shocked me that this person went through all that just to stay maybe 20 minutes tops and get photos taken.

0:17 listen I know it's very common to call that a vagina but this is a PSA letting y'all know that that body part is in fact the vulva, as the vagina itself is inside the body. not to be super serious for no reason but I'd really love it if we as a society could stop calling women's parts the wrong names because it really does stem from misogyny and ignorance and if we can call penises their proper names I think it's reasonable to ask that we do the same for the female bits as well. (this is not only directed at robert and meant to be educational, not critical or judgemental, thanks ❤) edit: my advice to the guy with pink house would be to simply start greeting everyone that shows up with the ring doorbell and scaring the shit outta them lmao alternatively, if you could find them online, I'd send them invoices for the use of your property as a photo studio

This is the time where you start using malicious compliance so that you can mess up those people's content for fun. Put something creepy in the window, play an even louder sound that scares them, maybe something that can spray water on them automatically, put a sticky substance on the places they like to sit on, something similar to a mild prank because now those people are a total infestation and it sounds horrible to live there... Maybe even get a big dog that scares them because losing that much money to them is even worse.

The term RESPECT is NO LONGER even a WORD and its beyond frustrating and disgusting especially when it comes to those who demand to be treated with it but yet ignore or call you out as a "KAREN" if you even mention the word. Gone are the days (80's..) when we used to walk home from school and accidently touch someone's grass in their yard with half our foot or even the day of playing outside (*YES, WE DID IT WAS AN ACTUAL THING..LOL*) and accidentally with whatever we were playing with landed in someone's yard and we would argue about who would run to get it and the others as look outs..lol.. before they came out yelling for us to get off their yard and then tell our parents...hahah...We automatically apologized ourselves and knew we would still get yelled at from our parents who also had to hear it from our neighbor who was still mad and at times would tell others we were disrespectful and ewwwww did we hear it at home. If it happened again (** very rarely we would just go and knock for permission**) then we were literally walked over and had to help our neighbors with any chores as a punishment and there was NO ARGUING or CRYING about it PERIOD! We don't hear about that parenting much anymore and it shows. Parents are too much about trying to be best friends or allow social media to "raise" their children and it's just sad. To this day along with myself, siblings and cousins we are all so very grateful and blessed that we were raised right, and we all have done the same with our children. ***RAISE YOUR CHILDREN TO BE MINDFUL OF OTHERS, IF IT'S NOT YOURS DONT TOUCH IT, KEEP YOUR HANDS TO YOURSELVES, DONT SPEAK OF WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW OF, ASK PERMISSION, DONT SPEAK OF OTHERS IF THEY ARENT PRESENT TO DEFEND THEMSELVES, APOLOGIZE WHEN YOU ARE WRONG, ADDRESS THE WAY YOU WANT TO BE ADDRESSED, YOU WANT TO BE TREATED AS AN ADULT THEN SIMPLY ACT LIKE IT, IF YOU DIDNT PAY FOR IT THEN ITS NOT YOURS, and well basically just FOLLOW THE GOLDEN RULE its honestly NOT DIFFICULT! *****as always i LOVE your content and RESPECT it **all the way from TEXAS..**MUCH LOVE**
