Electric cookers are an innovative and modern way to cook food, providing a safe and speedy alternative to conventional stoves that require an open flame. These cookers are designed to accommodate a variety of cookware and come in two types: induction and infrared cookers. To determine which type of cooker is best for your needs, consider the information provided in this video.

Wrong! Infrared cookers heat with radiated infrared energy (just outside the visible light spectrum). The red glow provides a miniscule amount of heat energy. The ideal "black body radiator" emits no visible light. Induction cookers radiate a high frequency magnetic field, which induces eddy currents only in a close by ferromagnetic material. Very little energy is used if a ferromagnetic container (cooking pot) is not placed on the glass. The infrared cooker, on the other hand radiates whether or not a cooking pot is placed on the glass. This is also a safety issue. Turn on both devices and place a hand on each. the infrared unit will burn in a second, whereas the induction unit will remain cool. Induction heaters also cool down (safety) much faster, as the only heat in the glass is that conducted back from the cooking vessel. The very slow cooldown of the glass on infrared cookers necessitates the use of the "H" (hot) warning indicators. Induction, using continuous electronic energy control gives constant, infinitely adjustable, temperature control, similar to gas, whereas infrared cycles between off and full power, such that temperature fluctuates wildly.

the statement about "harmful radiation" mentioned in the end is misleading and wrong as its not the the one that common people think of. This one has no harmful effect whatsoever.

Infrared radiation you get for instance from sun. Infrared light is also used in infrared saunas so that one can get health effects of it. Induction makes only magnetic field.

Why would you make a video about something you know nothing about? Your first 'main differences' statement is completely wrong and misleading. Induction coils don't heat up, the eddy currents produced by them cause the bottom of the pan to heat up. This is why induction cookware is designed specifically for use with induction cookers. Infrared *radiation* is what makes infrared elements produce heat.

Even your statement is not quite accurate- induction elements heat the FOOD by using the pan to make a magnetic field around it. The food gets hot so the pan gets hot and eventually the glass surface gets hot but these are all because they are TOUCHING something hot. The heat transfer goes-magnetic field-food-pan-glass surface. That’s why you can put a paper towel under a pan on the cooktop if you’re cooking something especially messy. I agree that this video is inaccurate and misleading in many ways.

Ah... no. You're thinking microwave. Induction hobs heat the pans, not the food. I'm sure a quick search online will clarify that.

Induction and infrared both emits radiation of different types but both are non-ionizing. Both are not harmful to human unless you put your body parts in the heated element. Lol

Electric stoves cycle on and off gas stoves keep your pan at an even temp so when you have an all clad pan and you’re trying to keep the heat even so you can add your oil and cook your food without burning it and you can control what’s going on you must have a gas stove a gas stove is not dangerous by any sense of the word for a professional or a home cook that’s ridiculous 220s just as dangerous if it bites you if it’s incorrectly installed and that’s about the only way it’s going to hurt you but it does cycle on and off and it does not give you proper cooking temperatures on the top is not good

In fact the natural radiation emitted from the sun is far more harmful than your induction unit could ever be. "

Yes and no. Gas was used because it WAS the best, and is still used because it is reliable and cheap. Induction technology provides the same benefits for cooking (instant heat, constant temperature control) but is a relatively new technology, nowhere near as reliable (in commercial use, anyway) and needs more time to mature. But as far as cooking goes, you now have two excellent choices.
Can I learn to love induction cooking?
