I saw your post about ingenue essence in your blog and now see it in video and I have to say is the best description I have seen of ingenue. It resonated a lot with me. I have a long time insecurity with not appearing "womanly" or "grown" bc of the ingenue traits and I am always trying to dress mature to look older and for ppl to take me seriously but now I am determined to embrace my ingenue essence and be confident in it. Thank you so much, this touched my heart!

Wow, thank you! This comment touched my heart! And I truly do believe that every woman in every body type and embodying every essence is beautiful. It's just about embracing who we are and I'm so glad you're now on that journey!

Body analysis, colour seasons and essences have totally opened up my mind to why I look good in certain things! I always wondered why I suited feminine, princess like, waist defining dresses, and why I didn’t suit certain cool colours. I believe I’m a SN because I’m 5’6 and have width but also curve and short limbs. I’m also a soft autumn!

It's all so fascinating isn't it?! I wish someone pulled aside when I was in my teens/ early twenties and explained all this stuff to me. I was also into being trendy so there was so much aggravation when I would try to force the latest trends that were just not in alignment with my lines. Don't even get me started on colors lol... When I discovered this world of body types and style essences it really helped to understand what works and why, and to craft a personal style I truly love. It's so fun now to have a community of people who are on the same journey. :)

Wow, I love your analysis. Showing Selena attempting the more sexier looks compared to others that actually embody that essence really helped me to understand this concept.

I have ingenue essence and everything you explained about this particular essence resonates with me. According to Google, it means the nature of something. In my definition, essence is the aura your soul or spirit gives off. Because of this our inner state is a reflection of what aura/essence we're giving off. Oh also my color palette is warm spring and body type is classic.

This video has been so clarifying. I was really struggling to decide my body type because I did not relate with what I thought was the associated essence. I think I am flamboyant natural but I really relate to the ingenue essence. I didn't think I could be my body type because my essence didn't seem to match. This is really freeing to me. Thank you so much!

I'm mainly Gamine and have Ingenue as secondary essence, ex equo with Ethereal :). In Kibbe I'm Gamine (FG in new system). I'm also Deep Winter/Autumn (dark, clear but warm-ish) and I often struggle with bringing more of my secondary essences up front. Your hair-makeup-accessories advice is very helpful, thank you! I feel that Ingenue essence is most compatibile with Soft Gamine styles in Kibbe and slightly less with Theatrical Romantic. It blends well with Kibbe Romantic and Gamine (or Flamboyant Gamine) too, but at this point some compromises are necessary. I cannot fathom blending Kibbe Classic with Ingenue Essence, that would be extreme sport!

What if you don't like your essence?
@AliyahWasHeree3 ай бұрын
You most likely have more than one essence anyway. You can mix them and only use the parts you like.

I like that you highlight the "intangible" parts of essence - I think of myself as having only a very slight ingenue essence but i think it comes forth most strongly for me in the "intangible" ways (i know people have commented on my movements being "cute" before) even though i don't think visually i have a very strong ingenue vibe. This video which i watched just for fun ended up being very helpful for me in understanding myself holistically so i thank you for that!

This comment has made my day. My entire goal is to provide a new avenue through which we can understand how we show up in the world- though the lens of personal style. Topically, it is just clothes, but underlying that is a platform with potential for holistic understanding and transformation.

People are always so shocked by the I say i'm 45, People always guess that i'm 30 not even 35 but always around 30. I have ingenue essence, I think it is wise not to have plastic surgery with this essence. I feel that way about everybody though. In most cases, your nose or mouth or whatever it is goes with your other features. And to mess with it usually doesn't look right. I didn't know what it was till recently, my mom has a too. We have big eyes and rounded features. I'm actually fn Body type, at least that's what I think. When I first started to learn about kibby, I thought I was like romantic or something until I found out you couldn't be tall. Because i'm curvy and have big eyes and big lips, my face does not look like a natural face. Only when I found out about essence did things start to make sense. I've never heard this perspective where It's referring to the way we talk and everything about us, not just the looks. I would thing that's mostly true, When I look back on the people i've known and their essences

"Be careful when experimenting"?

What she meant is be careful with experimenting with clothes, hairstyle and accessories that don't match with your essence.

My opinion ingenue is a young theatrical romantic in kibble.
@MyAuthenticStyle-MAS6 ай бұрын
Interesting. Although the way I understand it- the Theatrical Romantic is a body type and the Ingenue is purely an essence. So it's possible for for a Theatrical Romantic to have Ingenue essence, even as an adult so it's not limited to them being young (even though the essence itself is youthful in nature).

I thought of that too. My primarily essence is ingenue with some romantic (maybe my lips?) And I think I am tr.

I am a Romantic body type with Ingenue essence. I am 48 and still look very youthful, even childlike. I will be ingenue for my entire life, as was Marilyn Monroe, Betty White and Debbie Reynolds, as are Reese Witherspoon, Drew Barrymore, and Christina Ricci. A TR has Dramatic essence. Salma Hayek was never an ingenue, nor was Jada Pinkett, Morgan Fairchild, or Jane Seymour. You can be a Theatrical Romantic with an ingenue essence, but having an ingenue essence doesn't make you a theatrical romantic. Every single body type can have an ingenue essence. You should check out Dressing Your Truth and see all of the Type 1 ladies. Every single one of these ladies has an ingenue essence. But they run the gamut in body types.

@@marydidyouknow5826 right but not all romantics have ingenue essence either, and nowadays,I don't think christina ricci have ingenue essence, her face is very sharp, Marliny, Drew don't have cute faces,they look more womanly than little girl,and not all teatrical romantic have dramatic essence, is a myth,what happens is: westerners like sharp features in women (not all people;like defined jawlines,high cheekbones, almond/siren eyes,high nose bridge) so when they see a woman with rounded features they think "oh is ingenue " mmm no,women can have round features but being big in size while ingenue have small and delicate features . Sorry is just that I don't agree,have a beautifull day.

wish you had included ariana grande she is the most obvious primary (check her interview with zack sang and zane lowe) ingenue essence :) selena seem to be a natural gamine with touches of ingenue and romantic, she looks amazing in that one black look off shoulder with a flowy draped skirt; (she is not sensual or sexy like beyoncé or JLo, that is true she even talked about it in a actor roundable" I know I am not typically sexy" and some people wanted her brand to go sexy but she knows herself) one of the gifq is more gamine and playful it fits her. as for rihanna she said she has to force the sexy it's not natural in france we had to call her out for being vulgar (she lacks the elegance of beyoncé and jlo to be a romantic) she is a gamine essence (she looks off in romantic fenty beauty looks and vulgar she plays a persona) whereas badgirl riri fits her she even have "rebelle" mischevious in french on her neck. and is a "rockstar" :) where as jlo beyoncé give more diva vibes.

I hate being ingenue, I never feel like an actual woman :( It’s helped learning about my essence, I never knew why dressing how I felt I was supposed to just didn’t look right. I still wish I wasn’t ingenue though lol
