Using a Gelli Plate isn't just slapping some paint down and pulling a print. Not when you want one layered monoprints that have depth, texture and character.

Thank you Liz! That means the world to me. Yes, art is about a feeling, techniques are great, I use them all the time, but they are just the tools to help us breathe our emotions and life into works that connect with those we love, including ourselves. I wholeheartedly believe that. Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave a comment. I just filmed the video that uses that print yesterday, I'm excited to get it up later this month. I like to think she's smiling somewhere thinking about the art, and us. Much love! 😍😘🎨

WOW!!! Great prints. I've never heard anyone talk about the things you mentioned about gelli printing. I learned more in this one video, than all the other ones put together!!! I'm new to your channel, and excited about watching more. I don't have a gelli plate, and have never done it. But after this video, I feel I can do it. The gel plate and paints are not in my budget right now. But I've been buying couple paints each month. So it will be soon. I just can't believe how different your knowledge & processes are than anyone else has explained. I've done mostly crochet, sewing, and needlework all my life. But I just started doing junk journals 4 few months ago. So now I'm dyeing paper, and using paints. So a WHOLE NEW WORLD has opened up to me. Its nice to have some good knowledge before you start,..... just so you don't have to figure everything out the long way, by yourself. That can be frustrating. I didn't even think about building layers and that what goes on gel plate first, ends up on top of paper!!! It should he common sense. But I didn't think of it. Light bulb just went on!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH for taking time to explain these basics. I really appreciate your teachings!!! Thank you for the video. I'm subscribed and got the bell on. So I can follow your channel now. Plus, you are so fun to watch, and relaxing to listen to. Austin,TX USA

Ingrid, I’d love a Gelli Zoom session! I really haven’t been thrilled with the prints I pull and results I get. So do to them in real time with consult from you and others would be a great opportunity and gift. Thank I’m a blessed and lucky one who still has a job and able to work during the pandemic, so for me would need to be weekends and/or after 6pm Pacific Time (which likely would be way too late for east coast people). I really hope this works out to where I can join live. Thanks Ingrid!

These prints are so beautiful and it’s so special how you were able to use a piece that belonged to your Mom. I’ve only ever done 1 print and even though I really like it, I want a better white. A video about good paints to use would be invaluable to someone who is just starting with plates (like me). TFS!

thank you for teaching me something about the gellie plate I've just got into it lately I'm trying to make homemade stencils and I want to incorporate my landscapes and seascapes I'm lucky that my paint, ink is for free so I can use as much paint as I like meanwhile for textures I have fallen in love with the crackle liquid or paste it just gives my pictures a lift oh I forgot candle wax it's so much fun.

@@IngridBlackburn sorry for only reacting now.. busy, summer, garden etc... I'll show you a project I've made with a print I did after watching your video: elliecreahoekje.blogspot.com/2021/04/2021-topic-5-find-your-vibe-with-esn-by.html I guess it is the playful way of leaving part of stencilled and other paint to dry, starting with a dark color, and actually doing the layering thing in 1 go, not in multiple printing. I LOVE monoprinting, mostly the ghost prints for the same reason: having control in a certain way maybe? I knew about letting layers dry, but your approach added to it...

First time here, your ideas are awesome,I love the idea of using parts of stencils to bring an entire piece together. You have a lot of ideas that I’ve never thought of. Im interested in a zoom hang out. Robin

I have stumbled across you and have loved your video. I have a gel plate, and do play as you have done. I would love to learn more, I will be subscribing. Please can you include more technical information as well as your emotional and mindful take which has great value. I am a visual learner with an inquiring mind. Watching from the Kent in the UK

Uh oh! You did this a year ago. I had no idea and didn’t pay attention. I’ll look for replays in that sort of thing because I like your style. I haven’t done a lot of grunge and that sort of thing so and it’s some thing I want to play with

I am definitely interested in the live interaction. I started doing the gelli plate last week, and my art is usually alcohol ink and acrylic. So I want to intigrate this with my art.

As I watch this video, which I love btw,...I think I've seen your videos before. It feels very familiar. You say so many great tips about gel printing. Taking off a little paint. Scattered stencil text. Your process to layer that way, before you pull is unique. I've never heard anyone who does it how you do. But I understand what you are saying. It makes perfect sense!!! I loved this video. I love the idea to print onto a printed page!! So unique!!! Great idea!! I learned so much from you. I'm a new subbie. Thx for video. Austin,TX USA
