Love this! Where do should we find the paper? Also is there a reason you put the gel pad on to paper and not just directly on the glass mat?

I just watched your video and I almost felt like I was on the screen tell your story. I have a very sick husband, and very sick daughter and this past May I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I'm still waiting for my treatment but it will happen soon. Our daughter was my best friend and alway there for her dad and me but 5 years ago she almost died and is a very sick woman and will never be the woman she was. The scariest part is her life span is shorted because of her condition. I was 18 when I had her. Life is hard sometimes and I really try to look in at the good in each day and be thankful for what I have. I love to craft and do many different things but didn't start making cards till the Pandemic hit. Now I'm always sending cards in the mail and giving to people in our building who live on there own and I love the feeling of sharing my crafts with others. I was always a people person till our daughter got sick then I changed. I have to think about myself so I can help the people who I love the most. If the caregiver isn't well then she or he can't help those who need the help. Saying no to others was one of the hardest things I had to learn to do. But I have learned to balance the things that are important and do what makes me happy and still help my family and close friends. I just subscribed to your channel after watching what to do with you scrape paper. I loved what you did and hopefully I will be watching all of you videos in the future. Take care and have yourself a great day and I hope you get some special mail in your Mailbox at the end of your driveway. Have a good day. Wendy

I loved what you did with your scrapes. The cards you made can be used for many different occasions and for men's birthday cards which I find hard to come up with an idea other than a shirt or tie style. I don't have and die machine my scissors are my die machine so I'm limited. Thanks for sharing your ideas and I can't wait to watch you other videos.Wendy

I’ve only had my plate for a week and I have 199 prints. I made them 2 sided so I can bind them into my journals. I used book pages to roll off my grayer. I may make coordinating pocket with tag to go with the pages.

I just started doing some gel prints yesterday. Experimenting with basic stuff and it's addictive. But this... this way of showing in such a way that I understand WHAT you did while listening to WHY to did it is an amazing reaching method. Thanks so very much for the inspiration and education wrapped up here. I'll be back for more. But first... to the gel plate to experiment 🙋🏽

Hi Ingrid, such an uplifting and inspiring tutorial ❤. How do avoid smudging your ink effects? For example, shaving foam creations - does the foam need to dry out before removing it with a kitchen towel?
@IngridBlackburn3 ай бұрын
It does not! Just scrape it right off. Just do it confidently vs. hesitation. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. I certainly appreciate you taking the time to watch and leave a comment. Happy creating! ❤️🎨😁

How to stop your paper from sticking on the final pull? I'm new to this but every time I do a process like this me paper sticks and pulls off?
@toshabeans3 ай бұрын
It may be an issue with the paper you're using, but I'm just a beginner too lol. That's the first thing i might look into
@IngridBlackburn3 ай бұрын
Hey there @missflighty two things come to mind for me, like @toshabeans said - could be the paper, but more likely, you're not allowing the proper time to fully dry. When you say pulls off, I'm envisioning your paper remained on the plate. When you're gelli printing, you're adding moist product (paint, ink) to the plate, then a dry surface (paper). There's a tug of war of sorts between the two surfaces - the plate (which is clingy) and the paper. The moist paint breaks down the fibers in the paper which is absorbant - this weakens the paper. It is also what allows the paint to become dried to the paper - making it part of the paper (one way to look at it). If it's wet, the clingy gelli plate will hold onto the paint strongly, and since the paper is weakened, leave paper behind. Essentially pulling it to it. But if the paint dries to the paper enough, when you pull the paper, it takes (lifts) the paint from the plate. It's won the tug of war. When you first put your paper down, feel the back of it, it'll be cool - that's when it's wet. Give it a few minutes, and see how it warms (dries). This does not happen uniformly, it's not uncommon to have wet and cool spots. Be patient and allow it to dry. If you used a lot of paint - it can take a long time to dry. Keep at it, it's about practice, getting reps in and through experience the feel of the right amount of pain, and what works and doesn't! You got this. ❤️😁🎨

It's quite literally the most versatile tool in your craft room. I'm so excited you are diving into gel printing! Everything new is scary to some extent. Lean into being a student, getting reps and experimenting. Have grace with yourself through the journey. It's a rewarding one, I promise! I have LOTS of videos and lives on printing, enjoy it. Always ask a question if you have it. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it! 🎨😁 ❤️
