For anyone who suffers from really bad cramps and if you like drinking tea I suggest that everyone drinks raspberry leaf tea.Oh my god, let me tell you guys my period cramps use to be really bad to the point where I was feeling nauseous and wanting to throw up. Ever since I have started drinking this tea I have had little to no period cramps at all. My only regret is not finding out about this tea sooner.

I CAN NOT EXPLAIN how much I love it when you make videos about periods. We need more youtubers to talk about this kind of thing and I love that you're using your platform to reduce the stigma! I have a series on youtube called "week in the life of a period" and I just vlogged my first time using a menstrual cup. I'm officially converted! At my school we don't have lockers and we can not go back to our book bags once we put them away. We Only have a binder and there's literally no room for pads or tampons or anything. We can't even fit all our school stuff in there. And they don't let us go to the bathroom during class. Only before school, at lunch, and after school. Like WTF? they make periods for us girls so impossible. Idk how to deal with it. And great timing Ingrid, I'm on my period rn :) btw if u have any tips to help me out plz comment !
@rosariocardoso8778 жыл бұрын
How about a "page pouch"? I don't know the exact name but a lot of scrapbookers have a pouch that functions has a binder divider that attaches to the rings on the binder and they store pens and stuff like that. You could store pads or tampons in there instead. Or try a menstrual cup, it can be changed every 12h hours, so basically before school and at night! Hope this helps! :D
@Rebecca-ot6fb8 жыл бұрын
Just Press Playlist thank you! I may try the pouch thing out. I will just kinda look through my binder and see where I can find room.. And I also wanna write a letter to the principal explaining how these rules kinda make things hard on us. About the menstrual cup I'm only 13 and very scared to use one, tho thanks for all suggestions!

That sounds like something you might want to get your parents to talk to the administrator about. Not allowing a girl to use the bathroom to handle her period is not okay - I'm not even sure that is legal.

In my school if you get your period I class you say to the teacher that you need to go to the bathroom and it's " urgent" So one time I got it at the start of a 40 minute class. We had a new teacher who had only started that week and obviously didn't get the message. Long story short, he didnt let me go and my underwear was past the point of no return😹 I don't think I've ever been more uncomfortable in a class before hahaha

I hate when there are certain people are quite stubborn in a way with something like that. I know its not on the same topic but I used to go to my grandparents a lot when I was younger and it was a long trip. I would say that I had to go pee really bad but they would say to hold it "just a little bit longer, almost there". I knew it would be another half hour or hour but couldn't wait so I ended peeing my pants a few times.

i also suggest keeping a couple small spare plastic bags, to toss in any dirty underwear or used products that you can't find a bin to throw in... or if you're at a friends' house or something and you feel awkward disposing it off there. it's also good to just carry a teeny bit of toilet paper itself. i usually wait until my roll is nearly done, just like a few loops left, and then i make that flat and put it in a ziplock bag and carry it with me! also midol (or equivalents) is good for some people. EDIT: FORGOT TO mention that - warm heat compress or a hot water bottle really helps for cramps! also... leggings. leggings and jumpers. those really help for comfort, and leggings help to keep your underwear and pads firm around your butt. sometimes i also throw in some sweets (hard candy) in my kit because you need a bit of energy and sugar kick on your lousy days. it's also good to carry iron tablets because i tend towards anemia on heavy flow days! another WEIRD THING is carrying some rash or baby powder, travel sized ones because wearing pads and such things can really cause chafing between your thighs... or just the heaviness and other fluids that increase during periods (sweat, etc)
@jaefloyd95938 жыл бұрын
Midol is among my best friends. :) Also, I do the same thing with toilet paper, even when I am traveling in general.

+itsjuliheart ooh hand sanitizer is very handy!!! Especially if you're changing somewhere that's icky or doesn't have proper water! Lovely video, but just a heads up if you're going to carry around peroxide you should really keep it in a opaque bottle rather than a clear one and keep it at room temperatures (don't leave it in your car, etc). Exposing peroxide to light for too long will decompose it to water and O2 gas. Also if you're going to carry it around with you and leave it places, be sure not to leave it in really hot places or it will degrade faster (as a result of the increase in temperature) and could possibly combust provided the right conditions :)

another thing I like to keep is air-activated heat packs! you'll generally find them for muscle pains when you're on the go, but I stick them over my stomach when I'm out bc the first day I get cramps, and when I don't have heat on them immediately, my body temperature plummets and I sweat and shake like crazy. They really help relieve the pain of cramps when out and not at home!

Great video Ingrid!! I love your open and frank videos about subjects that aren't always talked about candidly. What a great role model you are. Love, love, love the double entendres!!! So glad you went there lol. I also keep a ziplock freezer bag in my period kit to put my stained or rinsed panties in until I get home. I also keep a self activating cold pack that I use for bad cramps. My gynaecologist told me that icing cramps works better than heat and I find it really does. I use hydrogen peroxide too! If I don't have hydrogen peroxide I use a meat tenderizer like Accent to remove blood stains.

Precious Star Pads is great. Her reviews on the different cups are helpful as well. Not all vaginas are the same, so one type of cup isn't going to work for everyone.

I really want to try the menstrual cup but I'm worried bc tampons are so uncomfortable and I know it's not the same but I'm worried I will be able to feel it all day...

Emily Jones As long as you get a size/brand that is comfortable for you, it's fine. Like I said before, I started with disposable cups after using pads before. This was the first time I had eve used any insertable period management products. Tampons terrified me. And to be honest, I didn't even know where my vagina was. Yes, it was that bad. I was scared but it's similar to the rock in the shoe situation. As long as you constantly focus on it, it will be apparent more so then usual. Try not to focus on it too much and relax. It's a learning process. No need to rush. TMI but I'm on day 2 of using my Diva Cup and I love it! It's perfectly fine if in the end you can't use it. At least you know for sure. Best of luck to you!

One time i bled so much my underwear was covered in blood 🤮... well anyways, i was in science class and i bled a little bit onto the chair, i cleaned it up with a tissue (no one seemed to even notice but if they did who cares) next i had P.E. so i decided to change my pad in the locker room. I pulled down my pants and my underwear were at the point of no return...i changed my underwear and my pad, wrapped up my old underwear in toilet paper and threw in in the trash can 😢 RIP My favorite underwear. ...basically the moral of this story is, ALWAYS CARRY AN EXTRA PAIR OF UNDERWEAR GIRLS....(and boys, i guess it wouldn’t hurt to have an extra pair!) 😂

I had a cycle that lasted like 92 days, and the period following was nearly 3 weeks long. And I was dumb and didn't tell anyone and I didn't have a pad. So I made some out of toilet paper.... Yah don't do that. And it was sooo heavy I thought it was never going to end. (I had gone through 4 periods without telling a single soul, and I just told my mom today on the third day of my 5th period. I don't know what I was scared of cause she just gave me a pad and sent me on my way... wuv you Mom)

Nasa P it stands for "designated female at birth" which is basically what it sounds like, like how the doctor decides your gender for you. some people would say CAFAB which is "coercively assigned female at birth" and if you see anything like DMAB or CAMAB it's just "male" instead of "female". hope that helped!

13 year old me sat fixed and rigid, Glancing over my classroom grid. In one eye contact all was said, Girls, huddle up, it's CODE RED. As the bell rang, we moved to a last bench, Sneaky sleeves and a quick hand clench. Snuck it in my pocket, in a quick hurry, Feet rapid and steps scurry. A boy saw something fall out in this scurry feat, My heart skipped several, not one beat. Picking it up, he giggled as ever, Other boys gathered, just as stupidly clever. Boys as them sneered, They screamed and howled and jeered. My face turned a burning red and pink, No time to act, no time to think. I snatched it and ran as fast as I could, Never to return, as if I would. Pouring my eyes out, I locked myself in. Guilty I felt, having committed a sin. For a sin this was, an untold pain, Never to be spoken of, the fact that I bled For dirty, gross and disgusting it was, It was a CODE RED .

It's also really important to learn to listen to your feelings. I have my absolute worst days usually 1-3 days before my period, and it's been such a relief when I've learnt to connect these crying-for-absolute-no-reason moments to my period; "it's not me, it's the hormones!" Doesn't make the crappy feeling go away but it has really helped me "rationalise" my way through it and understand that the real reason for my upset is really not the PB jar lid that won't open, it's PMS. It also helps me accept the bad days better, because I know that I'm not just being pathetic, I literally can't help it. So be kind to yourself, periods can be so frustrating but you're not alone with it all. Thank you so much Ingrid for this video! xx

Ingrid, I've found that hydrogen peroxide works really well but the Clorox Stain Remover and Color Booster works even better! My mom taught me this; you put the underwear in a plastic tub with a tiny bit of water just enough to cover the underwear and bottom of the tub. Then, you take the clorox stuff and pour a little bit over the stained areas. It works super well, I swear by it! I hope I heaped one or two of you guys out! :)

Thank you Ingrid for being so open and honest about periods! I have a small kit too, but this gave me some new ideas! Also, it's great to keep around because may times someone needs something- tampon, ibuprofen, etc. Another thing I like to keep is a small, light, individually wrapped snack for those moments your craving something sweet or salty or just hungry.
