One of the reasons I love this channel is because they showcase fighters UFC fans may not have heard of yet, but can look forward to (hopefully) seeing someday. Their videos on old-school legends of K1, boxing, and Muay Thai are also awesome.

It opened up a whole world for me, never even heard of these names before, but now I have multiple bellator/pfl and other fighters to cheer for. Musaev just got added to the list, looks promising, checked him out in a bit more detail obviously, absolutely insane striking, very unique to use a Sanda base for mma and I've been wondering why we aren't seeing more. A crapload of bait, sometimes completely nonsense videos, factchecks needed for every single one and the commentary is at best bearable with nonsense pronounciation most of the time, but it does have a lot of value for fans of combat sports, as there are many high level leagues, but very few televised and known in the west.

As my avatar shows fedor's been my man for over 20 years but how's he one of his trainers? Fedor runs Team Fedor , with the 2 Nemkov's, Moldavsky, Tokov, Popov etc those guys, Arman Tsarukyan has also used him recently and Shamil Musaev trains with the Golden team. The only connection I can see to Fedor is that Musaev's trainer, Vladimir Hosiya was awarded "Honored Coach of Russia In Amateur MMA" by Fedor, when he was the Russian sports minister.

0:32 good example of one of his most effective weapons. he choreographs nothing. and he trains his opponent to expect things. he's able to land a near blind high kick round 1 bc when he throws he doesn't exert extra movement to land anything. it doesn't even need to be a question mark kick to turn over - he can land a flat head kick with enough power and it have enough energy to put you to sleep.

I've been talking about this guy for a while now, he truly is special. The more so because he's got the Dagestani school of wrestling and he can defend well against wrestlers. UFC has a quota of Russian fighters that they generally don't go over - It would damage their business if half the top 10 from MW down were -ev's and -ov's. They try to snatch who they think are the cream of the crop whenever they can, but there are too many quality prospects (and ACA champs) for them to lock all of them down.

Shamil hasn't had a padded fight in over 5 years and has an undefeated record of 10 years. I don't really think that's a fair comparison, Shamil has fought better opponents than Khabib had before he entered the UFC. 🕵♂️

He's developed a bit since his KSW days but pretty safe to say Gamrot gets bodied nowadays - no chance is he controlling Shamil (and Gamrot's awesome fwiw).

What makes these guys so good is we as americans have wrestling as kids... These guys have hand to hand combat. Its crazy. This ones special though, he's definitely a student of the game also!
