I wouldn't buy a GR86 if I were you. Just stick with the first gen AE86. The current GR86 is definitely a nice looking car & powerful, but it has a exploding engine problem that is causing it to have a very short lifespan of only 5k miles😢 The brand has been ruined by this new model due to the engine. I always thought the Takumi's next car would be a S2000 regardless. It's faster in a straight line & in the corners in comparison to even the GR86. It can do 0-60mph in 5.5sec & the 1/4 mile in 13.9sec. Plus the S2000 racing capabilities were exhaustively refined through traditional means rather than a modern electronic control system - just the type of car that Takumi is best at. Plus it's more reliable than any 86 model.

I think the frame rate and the slight camera rumble really make it look like the cars are going fast. I think there are other tricks that I haven't identified though. I'd love to know all the tricks/techniques that went into making the cars look fast.

I notice a ton of lights whizzing through Takumi's face plus the motion blur in the environment itself. Among the trees, there's a texture of lines that help make the cars look faster.
