I have been enjoying watching your videos as a unit, harvest to snow to planting, growing and now harvest again. I am not a farmer but I am enjoying How Farms Work.

I really enjoy watching the crops being gathered. I find it fascinating that a machine can cut and separate the beans from the plant with out loosing them. Thanks for sharing your work with us.

Considering that Ryan's been doing that as long as he has, and Travis is in his third year of doing so on a regular basis, Dwight's probably used to it by now. As long as it's not interfering in their many day-to-day jobs, it's not much of a concern.
@MatthewHoag775 жыл бұрын
@Somers Farm I've heard from many KZbinrs that the money has dramatically fallen off, especially for the smaller channels, due to the many "Adpocalypses" that have happened over the last handful of years. It's not the cash cow it once was, although big channels still make some money from it. It's kind of like farming, in that if you're doing it solely for the money, it's probably not for you. Ryan will probably back me up on this, as would Travis: you have to love what you're doing to do this for the rest of your life. Personally, I have nothing worth sharing from my own life nor the time to film, edit, and post it, so I'll never post a public video (hence, the blurb on my main channel page).
@burkhardt73725 жыл бұрын
@Somers Farm So you can honestly say that their "hobby" isn't worth it? Considering the JCB, the grain cart, the Rhino equip. all the demo's and other opportunities that they've gotten and then you say it it ain't worth it.
@MatthewHoag775 жыл бұрын
@Somers Farm Yes, absolutely. I'm sure that's something Ryan and the rest of them have discussed more than any of us will ever know. I remember the first time Ryan let us know where the farms are located, and that was a big revelation. I can only imagine the amount of money they've put into security systems to deal with being known on the internet, and there are far bigger channels out there, unrelated to farming, who have done the same. Imagine what they had to think about when they held the two Farm Days in '17 and '18, with hundreds of people on their property. Sure, not all channels take it to that level, but they chose to be open and welcoming to their fans. I have more than a few relatives who farm, and KZbin wouldn't even be on their radar for a lot of reasons, many of which I'm sure you've thought about yourself. It's always a secondary concern, but it can occupy a lot of time and resources, so that desire to do it has to be pretty strong. I'm just thankful that they choose to do what they do for the enjoyment and education of the fans as well as to maybe, someday, speak with a little bit of clout when it comes to ag-related issues. It's definitely not a calling for most people in the same position.

Really enjoy your videos. I like the fact you try to explain most things your talking about so the average human can piece together the story and/or reasoning behind your decisions on the farm. Very informative. Keep up the good work.
