Injection Pump Removal & Installation, Hand Throttle Fix: John Deere 4010

In this video, We take the time to remove the injection pump because we diagnosed it down that. This last fall when we are having problems, trying to get it to start and run. So we replace the mechanical fuel pump and fuel filters, and there was no change. So the next logical thing was the injection pump. We had it rebuilt by Elite Diesel in Bonner Springs, Kansas. We put it back on after we got it back from him, and it started without a hitch. Next, we worked on the hand throttle, because for years, we've used a bungee strap to keep the throttle from vibrating down. We were sick of it needing that! It just so happened that it was just a broken bolt at the bottom of the steering column, which tightens a clamp to hold the tube in place.

My spring is totally gone , I need to know where in there did you hook the spring ?

There is a hole that it’s mounts to on the foot throttle itself and the other mounts to the middle of the bracket to hold it into place.

Everybody used the bungee cord on the throttle. Noticed your stop knob was gone too.

Yeah, we did for years and was just sick of using a bungee strap. The stop knob has been gone for years also. Thanks for watching!

So what did the pump shop say was wrong? I'm having a similar problem

The shop said that it was straight up just wore out. The common wear items were just wore out enough that it quit doing it’s job.
