I farm with pretty much 1980s and 1990s equipment and a smaller farmer here in Saskatchewan. You learn to be a mechanic pretty quick unless it’s a really big and technical job. Profit margins are always tight for farmers no matter the amount of acres, and a mechanic’s bill is something that I really avoid unless absolutely necessary. I literally know no farmers who don’t work on their own equipment that they own outright.

I just want to take a minute or two to express my appreciation to the Welker family. I just went through a marathon of watching your videos during the last few months and I must say I'm impressed. Starting from a wave board ride on the Welker's lake to conceiving, construction, fixing things, repairing all kinds of stuff. My highlights are, first to a man with his two sons, seeding the grounds, but also family values, that is commendable. I appreciate that there is no challenge to tough to give it a try. Even if you don't have the knowledge as of yet about fixing something, you are always open to getting in more knowledge, and finally, as Bob says, "Anyways, let's do this." I really like Bob's puns to the point I also call him Pun Bob Farm Pants (Just a kind reference to Sponge Bob square pants. Well, Nick is Hollywood and Scott Leg Arms. Bob also needs a nickname). I also really appreciate the collaborations with other KZbinrs. All in all, kudos Welkers! An appreciative farming video watcher up north!

Okay Scott, you've taken enough of a vacation from the shop. Nick can trip along as a mechanic with dad looking over his shoulder but the pure talent as a mechanic that Scott brings is so valuable to this farm and besides that... we miss seeing his bright and shinning face. Okay, so Scott makes a cameo appearance. Nick, your contribution to the farm in technology and marketing cannot be overlooked. The teamwork on this farm is exactly what it takes to run a successful farm/ranch in this day and age.

Next time you build up a pin or something to machine down you should use a stick welder because the metal is softer and better for machining. If you is a mig it should be flux core it works the same. I think you would find it noticeably nicer to work with and lasts arguably longer 👍

I bought some steel sprayer cans on the jungle site, and you can fill them with wd-40, brake clean, and other chemicals that aren't water based, and then you just use a compressor to pressurise them. They are called sure shot, made in the US, and they also have an aluminum version as well. The price of wd-40, and brake and parts cleaner in the cans has gone up significantly in price, so i buy the big containers, pour them in, add air, and it actually lasts longer as well. Maybe you already have some, but if not, it sure is cheaper. G-d bless you all.
