Meeting Tom was really nice to meet a positive person like him. To see him continue his trip with the injury was worrying for Renée and I. But with his spirit we knew he would know how to take care. And making that last paddle all the way to the Pas was amazing not many have done that 🤝

Doing anything physical with any limb on the mend from any kind of injury, can be a real toil. Hopefully it will go down in swelling as you continue, or you may need to lay up a few days in order to rest it. Feel better buddy, looking forward to next week to see your experience with the wolves or coyotes.

When you sat down, I felt my own knee when I injured it when I was 24. It was a muscle tear, though. It was stiff and big until I was 28, when I moved to Japan and lived at the top of a hill. That daily walk up the hill strengthened the damaged muscle so much that the muscles that were compensating went back to normal. It will occasionally swell up and hurt when it's winter, though. And amazing stay with Solomon and Renee!

I've been following since you were around 14k subscribers and every week I'm so hopeful you've made it to the 100k subscriber milestone - so close! Another thing I noticed, just starting at this video I think, is that there were a few ads! Maybe 4 or 5 of them, they were all super short. I was sure to let them play all the way through, hoping that helps you in some monetized way. Thanks for sharing your journey. I look forward to the new episodes every week!

Gout ouch. Yea I get Gout on my right and left toes not fun. You had a enjoyable canoe ride this video it seems. I never really thought about the rising water of a river due to the dams, but it's something new to me that I learnt through watching your video's. It did look as though the swelling of your knee went down throughout the day and the movement got easier. Hoe the mosquito's weren't a nuisance over night for you as you did pitch your tent in the long grass. Okay Tom catch you on your next video. cheers, but as you are a New Zealander I'll say "CHUR"!

Hi Tom! I hope all is well, for you! My mom used to suffer with gout. It's definitely not a fun situation, from what I've been told. There wasn't much that could be done to have any form of comfort. Gout is horrible! When I do get it, it's normally in my big toe, and it is excruciating!! In the past, I've been lying on the floor in tears with the pain! I don't recommend it. But this is the first time I've experienced it in my knee, which also indicated to me that it may not be gout (hint hint) and could be something more serious

@@WhatInTheWorld_Tom I was going to recommend wrapping it with an ace bandage... However, if it's gout, that wouldn't be very good advice. Have you checked for any spider bites or something you may have, unbeknownst to you, been allergic to?

I'm not sure if people know it or not, but i have my whole life in that canoe.. everything I own is in there. It's not so easy to make that "oh who cares" type decision out there. If I was on a day paddle, and had 2 working knees, 100% I would go full speed ahead!
