I haven't tried the inkbird as of yet. I have a Tappecue and so far it works pretty well. Maybe Santa might have to come visit me with that Inkbird. ;-) And Congratulations on the new bundle of joy!!!

I like my Inkbird. The only issue I have with mine is the probe keeps slipping out in slot #1. Almost like the hole is slightly too big for the probe. I like it though.

dude, that is interesting.. I just did not realize I had to jam mine in hard, but after I overcame user error, it was just fine! I think for the price point, they do a great job!

Its nice but it is worthless once you get a new phone. I paired it with my old phone. Now I have my new phone and it will not pair. There is no way to un-pair the old phone so I am stuck.

Good job brother! Questions: are the probes submersible in water or dishwasher safe and how did you resolve the APP disconnect situation? PIF will be proud of you bragging on eastern Carolina sauce on hog meat.

So, this caused me to do some research and I love it!! You can submerge them but "NOT FOR A LONG TIME" and I do not believe they are dishwasher safe! I spoke with Ann and they will look into pushing out software to fix it for everyone!!! Pretty fun to try a new product and help them out!!

@@RedsBBQandPizzeria I was curious about the probes getting wet when cleaning them. I can't say but on a different unit (brand) I think the bride got them wet or the whole unit is faulty. Only used it once.

@@RedsBBQandPizzeria If you do wash them or soak them in water I'd ask Ann if they'll send a new set of probes. This interest me as I've seen various accounts of doing so. Some imply only wash the probe tip and not the plug end or cable?

That's a pretty short battery life. I used to do 24 hour cooks on my briskets when I was cooking. That battery life wouldn't even touch that. I do like that it comes with 4 probes though.

That's what I thought too man, it is cool being able to use 4 probes, but the battery life was not bad, just not as long as I thought! Probably because it is constantly sending out a signal!

Hey Red, My first guess is the battery issue might be with the cooler temps that it was in for the entire cook. I would like to know if the Inkbird still functions if there is a secondary power source plugged into it, like a cell charger or a large cell type secondary battery pack, some devices do not function with external power sources plugged in. Also does it have some kind of stand or magnet or bracket? Congrats on Baby Bella Red, awwww. Hope Mom is doing well. Jay

Know what i have been thinking Jay, is that maybe because it is constantly sending out a signal... that is a reason why the battery is being drained after just 9 hours... You would have to have an extension chord to plug it in to, but let me try that out, to see if it charges and runs at the same time!! Great questions!! No magnets or brackets!!
