I have a wide assortment of Gimbals for my DSLR's, Action Camera's, and phones from DJI, ZhiYun, Moza, and now Hohem. There are 3 major factors that Hohem out performs over all their competitors is their action camera gimbals have a button that no other Gimbal offers call the Roll Buttons. This where you can purposely balance the 4th axis. As well like you mentioned, their app has superb capabilities that only pro DSLR gimbals can perform for their phone and action camera gimbals. truly a huge plus! Just got myself the inkee falcon plus. this one is the big winner because it can carry the hero10 with media mod and light, very compact and portable. Only missing motion lapse.

Thank you. My Inkee Falcon plus had to be replaced by Amazon because of the jerks. The new one is the same, so my main gimbal is now the Zhiyun M2S. I use a GoPro 11 and although it will not connect with the M2S via Bluetooth as already said, I use the voice commands to the GoPro. In some ways, I find it just as easy as pushing a button. The M2S carries my GoPro, the media mod and DJI wireless mics. and is far superior to the Inkee. I am very confused now because I wanted to buy the Falcon after seeing a very positive review. Of course stabilisation is the most important but weight and size, as well as being able to see the screen well are very important. Action camera screens are small and 1/3 of the screen is hidden in the iSteady. Price is now very similar, so not a reason. I still like the Falcon better overall. Do you have footage sample of the falcon with hypersmooth/camera stabilization ON ? Because it does improve the experience.

Spot on. Hohem is more stable and cheaper that offsets the weird design that covers parts of the screen. Add the improved mounting system and mounting hole in the side of the handle (for lights , microphone or an extra handle for two hand operation) and its a winner

I have both gimbals. If Falcon was first on the market, I would be overjoyed that I didn't have to buy Hohem first. Yes, it is easier to mount the GoPro on the Hohem and it is better to hold... and it has a more efficient battery... besides, Inkee wins... for the ability to use Media Mod, for convenient access to the camera screen, for the ability to use the recording option, taking photos and Time Laps from the gimbal buttons. Importantly for the KZbinr-traveler, Inkee is smaller, more compact and lighter. With such a long tripoid, I don't have to use a stick. In travel conditions, where every gram and every centimeter of space is at a premium, this is the only gimbal that easily fits into my Lowepro Slingshot Edge 150 AW mini photography backpack. I've only had Inkee for a month, but after the first outdoor sessions, I can already see that it will stay with me for a long time, as the main piece of equipment. It's almost perfect for shooting travel videos... you just have to remember to fully charge it every second day. In the case of Hohem, one charge is often enough for 3-4 days.

05:45 is it possible to mount the GoPro upside down, plugged in (like shown in your vid) and have the gimbal working as per normal? the reason i asked is because i like to keep by GoPro charged while recording since I am using the ulanzi battery door. I know that this isn's possible with the Inkee Falcon due to the mounting style, it doesn't allow you to rotate the GoPro, so the charging door stays on the inside part.

I recently bought the Inkee Falcon…it took awhile but I ‘finally’ got it to balance my GoPro 10 (about wore out my fingers using the clunky allen wrenches)…and, the gimbal worked correctly ONE TIME and never again…the Falcon shut off completely only after two minutes being turned on, twelve times in a row, so, being pissed off and aggravated I sent it back to Amazon for a refund. I already had a HoHem iSteady Mobile Plus for my iPhone and an adapter plate for my GoPro 7. I tried profusely to adapt my GoPro 10 to the GoPro 7adapter plate [to save money from buying ‘another’ powered gimbal] using my drimmel tool but to no avail…it was simply too heavy by itself and without anything attached to it. After being so disgusted and disappointed with the Inkee Falcon I pulled the trigger and bought the HoHem Pro 4 due to arrive 4/21/23. The only thing I don’t like about the HoHem Pro 4 that ‘I’ an see is not being able to use my Smallrig cage, with my external mic adapter attached, with it. I suppose I’ll continue to search for an accessory to screw into the side of the Pro 4 and just have wires dangling from the camera. UGH! 😩 Great review! Stay safe! ~Jim~

ALSO -- if you don't like the thumbscrews on any of the action cam's you can use 10-32 x 3/4 Socket Head Cap Screws, Full Thread, Allen Socket Drive, Stainless Steel 18-8 - although not as conveniaent as thumbscrews they give better clearance and allow a few different shots

Due to the lack of clearance between the thumbscrew and the GP media mod which, incidentally, tilted the camera slightly, I had to remove the bolt from the thumbscrew and saw it short which works well. The only snag is that I have to carry a Philips screwdriver around as well, just in case the battery on the GP has to be removed.🤔

iSteady 4 Pro wobbles the roll axis while panning GoPro Hero 11 using the joystick. Also, I feel that the roll axis is not balanced properly and there is no way to manually balance it as well. But its good for taking motion time lapse and that's the main reason why I bought it.

Hello John. Thanks for the comment. I personally never used the Media Mod. But I can tell for sure that the iSteady 4 does not have any extra room between the camera and the tilt motor, which makes it impossible to mount the mod. On the Falcon, you can instead slide the plate a bit further away from the motor, so it could fit. But I am not sure if the gimbal would still balance properly. Hope someone will be able to confirm. @@MamoAir For those that want to Pod cast, would you look at Zoom Q8n-4K. It is less than a GoPro 10, but has two built in mic inputs. There are a lot of add ons that can expand for Pod casts, like Mulitrack recorders.

Yes. That is always a pain. For some gimbals you can get a metal cage which incorporates also the mic adapter. But for the isteady, for example, you just have to let it hang or use some tape

Hello there, I have Nikon D7100 camera to do video with gimbal DJI Ronen RS 2. Now I'm thinking and to buy GOPRO 10. this design is easier to use in cities and fast moving with Gimbals Ronin SR 2. My question is if it is a bad choice to buy GoPro 10 action camera and to be able to use for Gimbal Ronin SR2, maybe is this Hohem iSteady Pro 4 is better choice.

Hello Alex. Thanks for the comment. I don't think you can use the gopro hero 10 with the Ronin RS 2. Tthe gopro is too light for that gimbal. You need a smaller gimbal like the isteady for your Hero 10. Or other smaller gimbal. Have a look at my channel and look also for Zhiyun Crane M2s, Inkee Falcon and Feiyu Scorp Mini. Hope this helps. For some reason my iSteady Pro 4 turns my Hero 10 to photo mode every time they connect. A little annoyance and hopefully they'll fix it. Also, it would be nice to have a button for turning the gimbal to selfie mode. Other than those, it's perfect gimbal for my use.

Strange how you compare 2 action camera gimbals but in now way mention if they can be mounted on say a chest mount or handlebar mount for biking. I suppose that screw opening for the tripod or on the side of the Hohem one can put a mount bracket there but still, no mention how it works in any sports mounted to your body.

Hi. These types of gimbals are not made to be mounted on chest or bikes, and that type of tool is for a really small niche. That is why it is not covered in the video. You might just want to use an action camera for that purpose or check other brands like Fuiyu. Hope this helps. Thanks

Real world usage shifts the points completely. Most people will use this type of gimble with just 1 action-cam, so balancing is done once, and close to irrelevant. Most people will take it with them, so size/weight matters most - personally, I don't use the tripod on mini gimbals to keep them small, only use them on my bigger gimbals for mirrorless cameras. Left-handed people can only see the rear screen when standing behind using the Inkee, the Hohem mount-design is a major setback for lefties- I continually alternate hands when I shoot long interviews. It appears the top-most motor blocks the screen view slightly more on the Hohem than the Inkee. Battery life is totally irrelevant - nobody is shooting more than 5-6 hours on a GoPro in one day. Hardly anyone will use the 2nd mounting point for a light or screen with an action camera, and you can always use the lower tripod mount for that anyway - I've tried that just once because it is very cumbersome since the light does not pan with the camera. Stabilization is critically important and appears better in the Hohem with in-camera stabilizer off, but why would you turn it off in real-world shooting?? Try doing the same test with both cameras leaving warp stabilizer active - looking at other reviews, I'm not sure that you can tell the difference.

Hohem Gimbal start button and aplikation start button Not works. I have DJI action osmo pro 5.. I got old hohem gimbal aplikation from hohem support. That aplication (hohem gimbal) what you find from Google Play works only old android version. I can manage got install that old aplication to Samsung Adroid mobilephone..... all movements works BUT start button in aplikation or gimbal not work. Ofcource Voice contor to DJI work. BUT... i try send that gimbal back to shop.

In my opinion. It's not a completely fair comparison. You should have used the same camera on both gimbals! Of couse the footage is going to be much smoother on the gopro 10 compared to the 8.

@@MamoAir one more thing, that isteady Pro 4 can’t hold a Sony RX0 because that rubber band thing would go right in front of the lens. I have an RX0, you have to mount it with the tripod socket in the bottom of the camera, so the M2 is better for that too. I looked at the M3, it’s a nice gimbal, but if you are going to use an APSC camera with a big lens, you are going to need a bigger gimbal, so might as well get a bigger gimbal. I’ll be skipping the M3.

Странно… сравниваете стабилизаторы с камерами разных поколений… и делаете выводы. Как на счёт взять 2 GoPro 10 и сравнить их на 2х стабилизаторах в идентичных режимах? Что то подсказывает что разницы в 2 раза уже не будет точно… кроме этого стабилизатор, как мне кажется, это все же инструмент для создания влогов, а люди покупающие GoPro10 для влогов, прежде всего стремятся к компактности и легкому весу. Ну и в конце falcon plus можно использовать с media & light mod а это и свет и звук… удачи Вам в вашем не легком труде.

Hohem iSteady Pro 4 is fake it says will work with GoPro Hero 7 but it does not recording video or take a picture which means you are forced to use camera button to start recording and there is no way to turn on and off button on the side because it is blocked by the gimbal motor arm. Bad design!
