For me, it's simple. Sci-Twi didn't grow up under the guidance and teachings of Celestia. She is more like Moondancer in this world. Sci-Twi was also bullied by nearly everyone at her school, and Twilight has never been subject to much bullying apart from RD, Discord and all the Villains. Two different timelines result in different personalities.

I fully agree! I never liked how Sci-Twi was essentially just our normal Twilight but with a messier hairdo and glasses. Her having a personality more like Moondancer would make SO MUCH SENSE, especially since that’s basically what could’ve happened to normal Twilight if she wasn’t under Celestia’s wing or went to Ponyville

Yes! The difference I'd say is that Moondancer has a lot more anger due to feeling abandoned by Twilight, while Sci-Twi never formed a friendahip beside her brother and Cadence, and chose to only engage with her interest. It's like an escapism I think, to not deal with relationships(Honestly understandable considering her last school)

I think Twilight would do a double major for history and psychology. She would study history because in the show she likes to learn about Equestrian history, and has a big interest in learning about Starswirl The Bearded, who was a major historical figure in the show. I think Twilight would also major in psychology because the main plot of the show was her learning about friendship and emotions. Psychology is the study of the mind, which would involve learning about emotions, and science, which Twilight also likes to study. I don't have an ideas for Rainbow Dash though, sorry Edit: fixed the misspelling

I think Rainbow Dash would major in something music related. I’d really like to see her in the school band like how she contributed to the pep rally in Friendship Games. She might have some issues with figuring out if she wants to be in the school band or on the sports team, though. Maybe she’d eventually settle on being on the track team and doing the whole band kid thing separate, that way she can still play music at the football games lol.

tbh i liked sci twi and i’m glad they added her because the whole concept of a portal leading to an au where there’s a version of you born as a different species and growing up with an entirely different culture of capabilities and politics and technology is really interesting. it makes sense that in a human world she would be a loner with a special interest in stem/science and tries to figure out/solve/understand the traces of magic she discovered in her world. i only wish they did more with the whole au thing in general with how the same soul makeup in a different body and different circumstances can change how the character ends up; i really wanted to know more about her backstory and at the very least a throwaway line about what the human shining armor is up to (basically i think it’s okay that she doesn’t feel like twilight because in a sense she’s *not twilight; she didn’t go through what twilight went through to make her how she is since different universes and all and that’s not just okay but the whole reason that makes it an interesting concept in the first place which again, i wish they went into deeper when they included her)

as much as i LOVE people's art of her making her some spindly girl, with thin limbs and waist- but this feels a bit more weighted and like- I absolutely love her having this kind of build to her. i do personally thing at the beginning, before being a princess, her human form would be more thin and nerdy, but being a princess physically changes her, canonically in the show, and having that show with her being a little bit stronger looking is really fitting!

I’m going to be honest Rainbow dash was my least favorite pony because she reminded me of some of the girls that bullied me in middle school too much. (She’s still far from my favorite but seeing peoples tumblr art of her being the himbo to fluttershy’s failgirl has definitely warmed me up to her.) Anyways I LOVE your redesign of her she’s SO GOOD oh my god I think she might major in some sort of archaeology or ancient history, I think it would be a cute nod to her adventures with daring doo, one of the things I actually did like about her in the show. This may be out of character for rainbow dash, but maybe she would major in physics. I see a lot of physics videos related to how she can do the sonic rainboom, how fast she can fly. I think she would go on a whole deep dive about the physics of people’s running, their speed(like Usain Bolt). Being so interested and wanting to study it to match it. I know she’s not an egghead like Twilight, but I think that’s one of her strengths

The thing I've always thought about when it came to Sci-Twi was the fact that her existence means that there is either another Sunset Shimmer out there in that world, which means there are probably a lot of worm cans being opened up. Because Sunset just decided to exist there instead, and we know that she came from the pony-verse based on the fact that she was under the teachings of Celestia first. Kind of odd to think about, but I always questioned it-

I think the reason Scitwi isn't like twilight is because she isn't Twilight. She might have the same name and body(kinda but kinda not but you get the idea) but at the core of their character, they are completely different. Obviously they were brought up different as Twilight was born a pony and lived as a pony and Scitwi was born a human and lived as a human. But they were brought up differently as in Scitwi didn't have the guidence of Celestia while Twilight did. Not to mention that Scitwi was bullied by her entire school and Twilight never had that trouble. I feel like most of the human counterparts to the main 6 aren't completely the same as the pony version of them, it's just that Scitwi was the most noticable because she did have the most different backstory from the pony version.

I think that Sci-Twi is important in the sense that the films and the series could not have continued for long to find excuses to bring Twilight back each time without it feeling forced. I think the writers were very clever in playing on the “alternative version” aspect, this will have allowed him to not have to bring back pony Twilight each time, while still keeping a Twilight in the group. Sci-Twi is a little bit different from Twilight, but I personally really like her nerd and curious side 💜🧪

The three most common picks for Twilight's major being English, Stats, and History is really calling me out here because its the three majors I'm currently deciding between. I just got assigned a Twilight kin ig. Also i very much agree with the comments that give Rainbow a creative major like writing or music! Her being a student in the arts while being sporty is a nice break from stereotypes and characterises her quite well because gives her more interests than just sports!

I like scitwilight purely because it both a) makes sense to introduce her since it's already been established that there are alternate versions of the other main characters and b) because it allows for the equestria girls storylines to continue and be their own thing without having to worry too much about where it falls in comparison for the main six timeline or how they're going to get twilight to show up. For instance, in the Legend of Everfree movie instead of having to summon twilight while at a summer camp, find away for her to show up at the camp and explain why she's there, they can just have scitwilight already be there, which is easier from a writing perspective. In addition to this, they don't have to worry about twilights current personality, powers, or what she is doing in the show, they can just have them be two separate things (in other words they don't have to worry about continuity errors). Which also opened them up to do more interesting storylines such as magic flooding into this worlds Canterlot or the girls getting powers or just episodes where we get to see Sunset and her friends doing regular high school things. I haven't seen the movies in a while, so I can't say much about her character other than I do enjoy her and Sunsets relationship and how after the movie she was introduced in she was scared of magic, especially since magic is so essential to canon/pony twilight. I thought it was a nice twist on her character. However I can see why people wouldn't like her since she was just introduced to write twilight out essentially, but I cannot deny that her being here allows for the show to have more creative freedom in terms of what they can do storywise and helps keep the universes separate.

Rainbow was a part of all the sports teams and tried to do ROTC but ended up getting so overwhelmed she just decided to quit a bunch of them. She definitely went into college not knowing what she wanted to do but came for her friends (loyalty), later deciding that she was interested in the major sports leagues they had.

These redesigns are so beautiful. I have come back to these videos so many times because your art is addictive to watch. That said, Twilight is a physics major. In the show, she loves magic, which is basically physics in pony world, she talks about all of the experiments and science that Star Swirl did, she knows way more math than anybody else, and the amount of times she is seen in a labcoat and/or technobabbling and/or writing equations on a chalkboard is staggering. She loves to read anything and everything, but most of what she does as like, her job before she moved to ponyville is fantasy physics. LOVE her vibe in this redesign though. I love how you gave Rainbow body hair it's like on brand for her! I always felt annoyed how a lot of people expect afab to always shave. I get if it's for hygiene issues but to bombard someone to be more "feminine" just riles me up. Plus shaving can be annoying and there are some people like my sister who are allergic to some products and it just left her skin very irritated. Rainbow Dash was always my favorite, simply because she was the sporty one and I was always the weird girl who did sports as a kid But I also related a lot to Twilight, because I absolutely loved to learn and read and definitely have burnt out gifted-kid syndrome Twilight and Rainbow were just the 2 I personally related to the most, and I wanted to be just as cool as Rainbow when I grew up Also the fact that she didn't like wearing too fancy outfits really spoke to me cause I hated formal wear as a kid. Granted, I do enjoy a good fancy day now, but I still tend to dress more for comfort or functionality than I do to look good

Love the designs, especially Rainbow Dash! I feel like she'd either be a sports science major or something military-related since she has that whole boot camp storyline with the Wonderbolts. I don't think there are any actual military-specific degrees at regular universities though, so she'd probably be in the ROTC + some kind of sport and major in something easy since her priority is sports/Wonderbolts. EDIT: Oh my god she'd be a pilot! She'd major in aviation! (So not something easy, but something she's determined to excel in!) And she'd totally do airshows!

Ok so RD either switches her major every semester, does Sport (for teaching) or (kinda left field) Event Management, she seams like someone who could throw a good party, not necessarily work with clients but like organise for companies/sport teams/bands etc. and find cool locations or connect people. Or hey maybe she does music/music production Idk if any of these are the correct words for those majors, English is not main first language
