I had to pause halfway through so I could say thank you so much for making this video. It's obvious you put ALOT of time and energy into not only filming it, but deciding on what tips you think are worth talking about and what can benefit all of us, creating these drawings AND their variants so we can see examples of everything you're talking about and coming up with tips that can be altered to the person's taste. On top of that, once you're done with all that you have to film and edit, which I know can be really time consuming too. You really made a video where anyone watching can learn and take something away from this, no matter how much or little their personal style varies from yours. You really don't leave anyone out. In order to do something like that you have to really put thought into. This isn't the type of video where you can just throw it together in a few minutes and be done. Thank you for being so freaking awesome and wanting to help all of us out. You didn't have to do that but I appreciate that you did. There's some artists out there who kinda go off ego and dislike giving out advice, thinking people should learn on their own. (But obviously we all have to learn from someone!) I appreciate you, respect you and admire you so much, for your art and talent but also for who you are as a person. Your vlog channel is awesome too!:)

Hi Baylee Jae, I have only watched a little bit of this video, well about a third of it and already, I am so excited by it! I often wondered how artists get such lovely clear precise lines like this, always thought they were computer generated! lol Now I feel more confident that I can achieve so much more than I have done before, although I wasn't bad at drawing, I can now be so much better! Never could do human faces, I always used to draw animals and was very good (if I say so myself) at animal fur .... grass and the illusion of leaves (my own style that is) I lost confidence many years ago, and seemed in the convening years, I lost what little talent I had too! Now, after seeing just a small part of this tutorial, I am excited a raring to go! Even though I know I have to start almost from scratch, I feel I can get back what I lost quite quickly and learn a great deal more from you! Sorry this is long winded, but I want you to know how much it has inspired me to get back to it! For that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart! Now to get some new supplies! ;) xxxxx

1. Thanks for making this in general! 2. Thanks for making it in such a natural, fun way, including laughs, etc. Don't like the strict, monotone way most other tutorials are narrated. 3. This makes so much sense. Line weight has always been this mystery to me, but thinking about it in shadows makes it sooo much easier and more logical.
@Sakuems9 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video ! i love the staedler fine liners pens ! my dream tool would be like, having all the copics colors as fineliners as well ! they didn't make that already .. maybe it's not very good to have super fine nib and alcohol ink ? ^^; I personally use the unipin black liners and the staedler one for outlining my work but i'd rather call this "contouring" an artwork more than a "lineart" cause it's essentially about countours. A soft countring with colored pencils for example looks great with copics ! i made an inking tutorial a year ago or so but my method has changed quite a lot since then ! i love the different lineart combos you showed here, i'm always scared of using straight black because it's a bit too strong, that's why i love the colored liners so much
@jeffszakacs24506 жыл бұрын
Prismacolor makes color fineliners and there colors are bolder then the copics, so as a colored liner this might work for you.

Right handed people use their left side of the brain, which is analytical and mathematical and a lot of stuff us artists don't want :') Im not saying right handies are smart and left handies are dumb, i'm simply mean that right handed people are more apt to use the left side of our brain and vice versa. QueenKrissu My advice would be to try and focus on the jawline and cheekbones if you can, making one a little narrower, a little boxier, etc. Another thing would be trying to focus on making the eye, nose, lip, and eyebrow shapes different for each character. This is what I try to do, although most of my characters look pretty different anyway.

Those of you who can't afford a lightbox you can use saral transfer paper, it comes in different colours (rolls) and can be use on different surface. Like if you want to transfer your drawings onto a wood desk or fabric and colour them. More importantly it is totally erasable and you can reuse your sheet of saral paper many times before having to throw it away. It gets better the longer you use it, provided you look after it. Your roll of saral transfer paper last a very long time. A lots of professional illustrators use this kind or transfer paper to copy their work. Baylee may do a video on this if she wants to. Any question drop me a note. Most art store have this and i am sure if you shop around you can get a good price.

Thank you so much for this video! I was wondering if you could do the basics of human anatomy, like how long arms and legs should generally be in proportion to the body, head size in proportion to the body, and other basic tips on improving human anatomy.

A small tip about ball-points from someone who used them starting out, they go on really patchy/spotty (?) if you use them over pencil, and they'll come out kind of dull. A lightboard would work well here.

And I use Faber-Castel pens with my copics and they do smudge a little bit if the pen-ink is really thick in an area, but it's not too bad.

Hey Baylee, this was a really great tutorial. Super useful and fun because it's easy to keep up and draw along (i was inking a unicorn haha). I was wondering could you do a tutorial on drawing hands? Love your style and thank you for all the hard work

When I was very young I was told to just take some tape and you can tape your paper to a window and trace it that way. :P Only thing is make sure the tape won't damage the paper.
