Very helpful! I'm a bit dizzy now from the camera movement but it was worth it ;-) It's good that you changed the vac hoses while you were in there. We have a saying in the military; "the easiest problem to fix is the one your prevent." Cheers!

Ha I like that saying. Thanks very much for the kind feedback and I note the camera work / angles, which will continue to try and improve in future videos.

Thanks for video. Very informative as I need to change the hose from the radiator to the very connector you changed here.

Hi, great video! I have a question, where did you buy the vacuum hoses? Have you a link? I know there are two types of hoses : 3,3mm and 3,5mm. Thanks for your answer.

Sorry for the late reply. From memory I just used braded diesel fuel line. It was really cheap to buy in the motor factor and did the trick perfectly.

Veri nice videos.I have a clue now..my mechanic change my 330cd crank pulley .I think he mess up the vacuum lines.now is massive air leak noise and heavy smoke 💨.

Hope you got sorted. In a separate and unrelated issue my e60 was once blowing clouds of smoke because of a failing charge air line (just in front of the crank pully)

Did you order OEM connector for pipes? If yes, the gasket was included or you ordered it separately? I have to replace mine too, its leaking a lot on m57n2 😒

I bought the part OEM from BMW and from memory the gasket actually came with it. A quick call to BMW parts department will confirm but I'm pretty sure the gasket came with the part and already inserted.

Could be. The wee seal between the plastic connector and the engine can fail (it did in mine anyway). Hooe u get it sorted.

Hi, I followed your tutorial & when replacing the vacuum hoses got them mixed up. I can’t find a diagram for exactly where pipes 1-4 should go? Do you have anything?

On realoem.com its listed as "connector" which is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard!! The part number in the uk is 11127806196. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

Oh and before I forget. If the part you get doesn't come with a gasket (which it should). The part number for the gasket is 11122247745. Actually I probably could have got away with just changing the gasket because that's why it leaked but I replaced the whole connector anyway since I was in that far.

Great video. This will definitely help me. I need to replace the same part. Just a couple of questions... the bolts inside the inlet you have to remove, how did you find removing them and then replacing? Is it easy to drop them into when removing/replacing as it doesn't look like you can get your hand in there to thread without losing into the undertray. Haha Also, did you have to.flush the coolant out before removing that part? Thankyou

I was worried about that too. At times yes a lack of paying attention / rushing something could potentially result in a bolt falling down into the engine. I really took my time and was very careful. Once I had it off I counted everything then blocked up the holes to be sure. If something falls down it would be a disaster and don't start it under any circumstances if that happens!! I drained down the coolant from the red valve at the bottom of the radiator. All in it wasn't the worst job. From memory the bolts towards the windscreen are the ones more likely to fall in etc (just from menory).
